Re: Bad Company 2 Demo Out

now what EA and DICE pulled off was worse. they allowed players a month of beta testing and they fixed none of the problems within the beta. heard the thousands of complaints on their website. they ignored the complaints. that's going to hurt sales. i just returned my game cause of it, and this from a guy who has just downloaded over 100 gigs worth of stuff over the last few days (games, movies, music). you're probably right about waiting for the next half-life though. hopefully they come out with a new counter strike |

Re: Bad Company 2
I disagree with the thesis of your argument. In my opinion, it's the lack of profits that have resulted in the decisions you've seen companies make with regards to the PC market. Infinity Ward was seeing the numbers I cited for COD4. I remember one IW official saying that they've seen the piracy #s and they are staggering; he followed that up by claiming something had to be done to change it. That's why we saw MW2 get rid of dedicated servers and lower the number of players in a game on the PC. They are seeing all the lost money and they are basically shafting the PC in order to get people to choose console over PC. Outside of Dragon's Age, almost all games on console and PC nowadays see the superior version head to console. This isn't due to lazy porting (maybe slightly), it is mostly because companies have thought they could be hurting general sales by giving user's the option to get a free, illegal copy on their computer.
Basically, lots of decisions you see now that look like they're bad ones, have been purposely made to try and make the PC-exclusive or PC-primary gamer become Console exclusive, so companies can make more money off of them. Since Valve bought CS, I think every time a new Half-Life engine comes out, you'll see all the usual suspects bundled on steam or maybe even offered for free with a HL purchase (CS, DoD, TF, etc.). EDIT: at your sig. I can't believe someone actually thinks that.

Re: Bad Company 2
pirating has hurt i'm not going to argue that. ****ty programming from these companies shouldn't be an excuse either. UBISOFTs DRM failed hard which is really ironic because hackers and pirates just get around the DRM while consumers like me, who sometimes buy the games, are turned away.

look at the bf2 hit boxes. it is still like that five years later. each subsequent patch released didn't fix the problem but made it worse. sniping people across the map just to have see the dude's helmet dust is frustrating... five years kinda frustrating. Quote:

Re: Bad Company 2
You're right that's just laziness on the part of DICE. My comment was more specifically aimed at what IW and Activision did with their MW2 decisions. The removal of features seems like a decision made as a response to #'s seen more than anything else.
And I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and hope he was joking. |

Re: Bad Company 2
This game is good, very good. My only complaint is that the Hind (on the island level at the last MCOM station spot) is too strong. The attackers literally have no chance when with the gun on that thing. Hitting it with an AT4 is impossible if the person is a good flyer.
Otherwise, I like playing it, it's fun, and always fun to get on with friends and play. I haven't played MW2 since I got this game the day it came out. |

Re: Bad Company 2
Looking forward to getting into this again when I get home. I'll have FFXIII and I've got to finish up Bioshock 2 but I'm sure I'll get some Bad Company 2 time in.
Man do I ever hate the helicopters though.
