I am addicted to this game still. My goodness I have over 100 hours in it already.

40+ hours in and I've only been to 4 of the 9 holds. Have barely touched the main mission and haven't done Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood quests at all. Crazy.

I did that lame quick leveling thing for smithing as well... so many leather bracers. Gotta start getting crazy enchanting shit.

I've done some cheap smithing.. but nothing crazy. Loving this game. Just got done with the thalmor party mission. Got some sweet elven armor/robes/etc.. digging it.

Joined the Imperial Legion. **** Stormcloaks. Haven't touched the main quest much, been trying to get my levels up so when I eventually have to face these dragons, I'm not going to still be shit at everything.

Anyone know where I can find a mammoth tusk? Some friends told me I can find it in the college in a room that's always empty, and it's easy to steal. However, I need 136 magicka to perform the spell that they want me to do before I'm granted access to the college. I have 130.

I stumbled acrossed a HUGE mammouth while roaming the desert, I can't remember exactly where though. I had Faendal with me, but I didn't bother trying to approach it because a Giant was with it. A loss waiting to happen.

When I play again I'll try and find it again to see if it's there and I'll let you know the local.

Actually it's really funny if you fight a giant at a low level. They pound you into the ground and then your dead body bounces off the ground like you've been shot off of a rocket.

I was doing a side mission in one of the bandit hide outs and they were slaughtering a mammoth with plenty of tusks on a book shelf. I will take a look at the map when I get back on, I really don't remember where it was though.. think it was in the general area of Whiterun though. I was so happy I found it so I could give it to that trader girl in the city without having to kill a mammoth myself. Much easier.


If I figure out which place it was, I'll post it. For what its worth, the lair was of the underground sort.

There's a bounty quest to kill those giants and mammoths. You only get like 500 gold though.


I picked Khajiit (first time I didn't go Dark Elf or Redguard) and am playing on Ultra settings. At times, the game is like a glorified wallpaper maker, pretty cool stuff. Probably my favorite elder scrolls game thus far.

Spoilers? Very minor
I have totally avoided the Imperial vs. Stormcloak questline. The supporters of the Imperials make sense in their reasoning, but the Aldermi Dominion is a bunch of dicks and they wanted to kill you at the beginning of the game, so **** them. But the Stormcloaks are xenophobes and Ulfric seems like he's actually a self-centered prick. Still, they didn't try to kill me at the beginning of the game. Right now, I've played a good amount of the game, but have been totally non-committal to either side. Then again, I haven't visited Windhelm yet, so maybe what people say about Ulfric is bullshit (but some people in Riften and all of Solitude make me doubt that).

You can get tusks at a lot of the shops. Just look under their misc items for sale.
