Re: Steam
I still play Master of Orion. The 1993 original. IMO it's the perfect 4X game and has never been topped; likely it never will. The balance of races, really just everything, is absolutely perfect. And on Impossible it is ****ing HARD. Even on Average difficulty you should be proud of every win, because no first time player could ever do it. They will either get stomped by the Silicoids in the early game, exterminated by a Meklar stack of doom in the midgame, or fall depressingly behind the Psilons in technology in the end game.
Oh, and Rome 2: Total War has been announced. It looks amazing, far more complex, realistic, difficult, and detailed than the first Rome, but I still doubt it will be as fun. More than a year to wait though. |

Re: Steam
Yeah I can see that. I know my dad had that one as well (he's had every turn based strategy game since the late 80s) when I was a kid, but don't remember playing much. The one that most nerds always talk about is Alpha Centauri, but it never really excited me as a 15 year old.

Re: Steam
So I have money to blow. Steam is the most convenient way for me to get games.
Anybody care to recommend something off of steam that I can play in 20-30 minute shots? I still enjoy gaming, but I've found I can't do it for more than an hour at a time at most these days. For example: Last game I played a lot was Limbo. I could sit down, solve a few puzzles, then go and do something else.

Re: Steam
For whats on sale right now, probably Portal 2. For 5 bucks you can't really go wrong.
Solve a few puzzles, call it a night, pick it back up again later.

Re: Steam
Picked up the Portal pack. I already own both on 360, but I'm stuck at work for another week or so and at $6.24 for both how can you really go wrong.
Still haven't finished Portal 2 either so this should be a good time to remedy that.

Re: Steam
Gotta tell ya, I don't understand a ****ing thing about soccer. I sure wish they'd make a new Hockey Manager, or make a Basketball manager like ESHL or Football Manager 2012.
****ing soccer. I hate soccer.

Re: Steam
Football Manager is not recommended at all if you don't like soccer.
EDIT: Not to mention that the new game comes out in a few months. Last edited by Nimreitz; 07-17-2012 at 12:08 AM. |
