Re: NBA 2K13
That would not be a problem.

Re: NBA 2K13
Hmm, didn't realize this just came out. Been pretty involved with Madden 13. Might wait to pick this game up on a deal at some point, I know Amazon is always good for randomly dropping the price of a game to $40 for a limited time.

Re: NBA 2K13
Couple of association related gripes.
-The shootaround drill is bullshit now, because getting a player to pick up one of the balls is like pulling teeth. They just have no awareness anymore in that regard. I just had a ball bounce right off Kobe's head and he just stood there. -The defense drill is also bullshit because the CPU is a wizard at scoring on you, while you can't do dick against them while you try to avoid a strike. -Players seem to get mad a lot easier. The association I started was the Lakers with 98 Shaq, Kobe, Fisher, and Eddie Jones, with Jamison, Hill, Blake, Meeks, and Kurt Thomas filling in the gaps. For franchises I typically keep a short 'real' roster, 8 or 9 guys, and then just sign scrubs to sit on the bench and fill the remaining spots. The guys I signed for this one were Gani Lawal, Patrick Ewing Jr. and some cyberface random. I assigned them zero minutes per game, as I've been doing since like 2k9. They're all like 50 overall and agreed to the benchwarmer role when I signed them, but by March they were all 0/100 on the happiness meter. Pretty stupid. Their whining messed up my simulation chemistry and got us a 3 seed with like 53 wins. Kicked their asses right out the door after the season (we still won the title). -The soundtrack randomly stops when you exit the draft. Had to save then go restart in the main menu myself. |

Re: NBA 2K13
I never play with chemistry, you can't properly quantify something like that in a video game.

Re: NBA 2K13
I play with team chemistry but turn off morale. My gripe about association is all of the injuries, one player will get injured, heal, then another will go down right away. I don't have enough patience to keep changing the rotation, and I hate having the CPU **** it up. I'm going to turn off injuries from now on probably.

Re: NBA 2K13
^ This is good to hear, started an association with the Knicks and let's just say there's very little chemistry. I suppose going ape on the trade finder, firing my coach, and simming the majority of my first season will do that.
Picked up my copy last night and, damn, such a rowdy time. The L2 (PS3) shot/dribble stick modifier is definitely taking some getting used to, but nothing too infuriating. Midway through my second game it suddenly dawned all the potential in dribbling, passing that just wasn't there in 2k12. One thing I'm a bit beefed up on so far is little presentation cues. It's clear so much went into Hova's incorporation into the game (which I'm all for), but when I'm playing in Brooklyn's franchise opener, they're up 13, with the ball, with 10 seconds left and Deron's just dribbling it out, the crowd probably shouldn't be so hush-hush. I could hear a pin drop in that arena. The crowd should be going bananas, announcers playing to the moment, etc. Eh, little things I guess. All too easy to spot weaknesses when you're so high on a mountain. |

Re: NBA 2K13
Also, I think Floods touched briefly on this but the drills, particularly the training camp mode, are still complete shit. You'll complete the moves, score in the final drill of each module, and be awarded no points. Over and over again. There were a number of simple moves where I was definitely doing it properly, but the game just wouldn't recognize it. GAME RECOGNIZE GAME, c'mon.
And you guys are right, I'm done playing with team chemistry activated. |
