Oh is that a Griffin...Blake Griffin lol
I just remembered that Family Guy episode where Peter was trying to make up a name and saw a pea, a tear and a Griffin fly by |

Re: NBA 2K12 Thread (Jordan, Magic and Bird announced for cover)
My thing is you just had Jordan, Bird and Magic on the cover....you went balls to the wall with the historic modes...how do you beat the last 2 years you had if you're 2K...it's impossible. They had their foot on EA's neck and they eventually folded (at least temporarily), I would've saved that legends rollout for a period I really needed it.

Re: NBA 2K12 Thread (Jordan, Magic and Bird announced for cover)
I don't know I thought there was room to improve in legends mode. At least add more teams like Reggie's Pacers, Barkley's Suns, Iverson's 2000 Sixers, etc
This was a cool idea I read a while back. It could've been mentioned on here or a different site, don't remember. But some kind of 'changing history' theme where you replay several classic playoff series as the losing team, with the goal of winning and... changing history. 2002 Kings/Lakers is an obvious candidate, Bulls/Jazz in either of their finals matchups would be cool too. 87 Celtics/Lakers, 2000 Sixers/Bucks, 2004 Pistons/Pacers are possibilities too. |

They could always pay tribute to the ABA, put Dr J on the cover.
I want the '77 Blazers, '78 Sonics, '94 Suns, '98 Pacers, '99 Knicks and the '01 Lakers.

Re: NBA 2K12 Thread (Jordan, Magic and Bird announced for cover)
I mean even if you do add extra teams the appeal of that whole mode has already kind of faded. Maybe I'm just looking at it in the wrong perspective but it's like they did a blowout promotion for the game then next cycle around...they're going to go back to normal players

Re: NBA 2K12 Thread (Jordan, Magic and Bird announced for cover)
The idea itself can be improved on. To be honest the only good thing about the legends feature this past year was just having the legend players around in regular rosters to make dream teams with or whatever else. The NBA's Greatest mode itself was terrible and had zero longevity to it. It was also lame how many redundant teams there were (two Magic Laker teams, two Dr. J Sixers, god knows how many Jordan Bulls teams).
Putting the changing history playoff twist on it would help a great deal IMO, as long as you keep redundancy to a minimum. They could focus on more recent players/teams too, most of the people playing this game don't remember anything earlier than the Jordan years and don't really care outside of Magic/Larry. |
