Very Quietly here comes Jared Jefferies

Very quietly under the Kwame hype I'm watching the development of our Lottery pick from this past draft coming on like gangbusters, JJ is becoming an invaluable part of Collins rotation I loved the way he filled the lane last night and got the dunk and to my surprise he's a capable 3pt shooter, plus he's a good offensive rebounder, I'm as surprised at how talented he is as much as I'm surprised at Kwame's development. JJ you can put him on a forward and he does a great job covering out to the 3pt line, I had no idea this kid was that talented, Philly's coach Larry Brown did say if he had this years 1st pick he would've chose JJ over everyone else, that seemed a bit far fetched when I read it but now I see the wonderful talent this kid has, we don't have to fret over covering the leagues new wave of 6-11 7-0 ft scorers from the perimeter because now with he and Kwame we have that covered, there really is no physical match-up that the Wizards can't meet. I really like JJ's game.

On a side note we need to acknowledge the job that Bryon Russell is doing on the small forward position defensively, he played good defense on Vince Carter and again last night on Pierce, his addittion has enabled us to keep Jordan in the sg spot and save us the mismatch of having our guards have to handle small forwards while he's not getting us gaudy stats his value is definitely noticed by me.

I have been pleasantly surprised that JJ is making a significant contribution. He is extremely active on the boards. I have the feeling watching him this year will have it's ups and downs.

Even though he is playing well I have to get used to that 'deer in the headlights' look he always has on his face.

JJ's offensive rebounding is excellent. He really gets after the ball, and he treats it as if it were a defensive rebound. His shot is looking very fluid...he still has a slow release, but that will be improved in time. And he loves to pressure the ball 90 ft...unheard of for a 6'11 forward.

jazzy you're right about Russell. He's been doing an excellent job on the opposing team's best player. Kudos on MJ in signing this guy...he's a bargain for 1.8.
