The Bulls will take Deng because he is the best player available with the 3rd pick.

With the trade between Charlotte and L.A. Clippers, it's almost certain that Okafor and Howard will be the first 2 picks(Although it's not certain what order), Deng will go 3 and Livingston will go 4. What Washington does with the 5th pick is yet to be determined, but if they want Iguodala they'll almost certainly have the chance to take him.

2. Livingston
3. Howard
4. Deng
5. Iguodala
6. Gordon
7. Childress

At this time, I don't see any way we're picking anyone outside of these seven. I'm sure I could knock Okafor and Howard off the list, but they are there for completeness.

Unlike many, I don't especially have a problem with getting Childress, though that would be the least exciting thing we could do. Something about him just yells out "solid role player" in my head. I haven't seen much of him so that's more a feeling than anything else though.

Livingston is just the opposite though. Whenever I hear his name, I just get that feeling that three years down the road he's going to be something special. Again, I haven't seen nearly enough to base that on at all, but I do get the feeling.

As for Deng, Iguodala, and Gordon, I'd be plenty happy to pick up any of the three. None really yell out "future superstar" to me like Livingston, but all three do look to be solid picks. I definitely like Deng the most of the three, but the other two are either or for me.

I've heard the same thing, that the Clippers a lot more interested in immediate production than waiting a few years for a kid. It isn't as if they'd be "settling" for Gordon either, not with the way he's been looking as of late. If the Clips take Gordon, that's pretty much a guarantee that Livingston will be on board for us. Things will definitely get interesting though if the Bulls take Iguodala over Deng at 3rd though -- we'll really have to make a decision then.
I'm reading it like you are.

I think we're looking squarely at Deng,Iggy, and Livingston.

Lets start with the Clips. They wanted 4 to stay ahead of us. They really must feel like we were gonna take Gordon based on Grunfeld's rep of taking guards despite having guards. They may think Gordon is the best pg prospect on the board and he can help right now. They have been burned by waiting on pg prospects to develop before with Dooling and Jaric. Gordon has that Baron Davis/Francis feel to him and I agree they wouldn;'t be settling for him.

BCH thinks the Bulls want Deng. If thats the case we take Livingston.

Wizards best case scenario- Clips take Gordon, Bulls take Igggy we chose between Deng and Livingston.

Worst case- Clips take Livingston and Bulls take Deng we choose between Iggy,Childress and Josh Smith.

If the worst case presents itself we should move down to try and get multiple picks. The Blazers have some as do the Celtics. We could grab Monya and Jefferson or Humphries or Biedrins.

Grabing Iggy nor Childress in my mind makes little impact but getting 2 1st rounders could get us 2 bigs and a sf along with our 2nd rounder.
