Most mocks have the 5th pick narrowed to Iggy and Livingston
With the 5th pick being narrowed to Iggy and Livingston.
1st question is who should they take between the two and secondly whom do you think it will end up being.
I'd like to see the pick be Livingston but I think the pick will be Iggy.
A couple have the Wizards with Deng, espn insider .
And a couple had Childress( oh no).
But most of them have Iggy and Livingston with more maybe going Iggy.
I think the Clips are bluffing about wanting Livingston. Dunleavy is gonna want a floor general right now not 2 years from now. You can't put Livingston in a line-up with Brand, Maggette and Q REich and now say handle that squad. I think they go Harris or Gordon.
Livingston fits with us. We can wait 2 years. He comes here he won't start nor have that pressure. He cuts his teeth against subs and gets stronger lifting for 2 years while Arenas battles Kwame for team leadership for 2 years than Livingston swoops in a brokers the peace as the pg .
Bobcats can't really believe that Livingston is ready for the pressue of being the teams 1st ever high draft choice.
I think we got a real shot at the league's future best pg.

In my perspective, I would really prefer Livingston because his height is something you don't see very often in a PG. It all comes down to though what Charlotte does, if they take Iggy then we take Livingston, if they take Livingston we take Iggy. Either one would make me happy. If somehow they are both there, which is possible its a gamble because they are both great talent to be passed up on.

Can't really complain if we get Iggy, Deng, or Livingston.
The only pick I would be against is Childress.

We're eye to eye on him. He has the Jeffries feel to him. He just looks really soft, his choice of schools was even soft.
He seems to have that floating loopy gait that JJ has when he runs. Not strong enough to finish in traffic.
I'd be sick to my stomach. Now he could be the 2nd coming of Grant hill it would take alot of exceptional performances to impress me from that standpoint. Its coming out now that the hype surrounding him was wishful thinking and alittle false hype.

IMO, the wizards are going to get some serious talent at the #5 spot with any of the players mentioned.
Deng, Iggy, Livingston, Gordon, or even Howard. Any of those could slip to #5, just never know what teams will do.
And any of those would be needed in DC. I think they'd be gunshy on another HSer, and Int'l is out of the question, so Deng, Iggy or Gordon is who they'll nab.
I tend to agree on Childress. If not Deng, then no need to take any SF at #5.

You fools are inviting the Curse of Les Boulez. Let there be no talk on this subject. If you do not understand, let it lie.
I for one hope we take Childress.

just trade down and nab two big men...
say....Robert Swift and Ha Jin. Or Robert Swift. And then nab Jaber Rouzbahani with our 2nd round pick.
If we have three big men to add on to Brendan Haywood and Kwame Brown, the odds are one of them will become something.
Even though I think we are kind of soft in other places espcially SF. But for now, Blake, Arenas, Stack, Hayes, and Hughes satisfy me somewhat.
Btw...does anyone know if we have ANY cap room?

doesn't look like much, I'm sure someone knows the exact figure, but that payroll is close to the cap (Etan's value is added into the total though)
And I think the curse would be if they dealt the #5 to the Cats to take Stackhouse. Trade Rip for Stack, then trade a pick and Stack for nothing to erase the deal, lol. THAT'S worst case scenario IMO, lol

The Clippers now have the #4 pick which changes everything.
The Clippers WILL take Gordon or Livingston at #4, most likely Livingston.
Now our pick all depends on who Chicago takes. If they Childress or Iggy, than Deng falls right to us. If they take Childress or Deng, Iggy falls right to us.
I think they're a little bit higher on Iggy since he did 2 workouts with them and Deng only did 1.
Also, we're the ONLY team who Deng did a group workout for. I have a feeling he wants to be here (strange as that sounds.
Deng or Iggy will be a Wizard unless Josh Childress is God disgused as a basketball player.

Espn reports that most likely the Clips will take Gordon which puts us straight in the Livingston bizz.
If the Clips choice is Gordon and if the Bulls take Iggy as I'm expecting that maybe puts us squarely in either Deng's or Livingstons spot.
Deng or Livingston very interesting and good choices. If its Iggy or Livingston I want Livingston if its Livingston or Deng then I have to think about it some more.
I think we're gonna end up with a player we want.
Dunleavy isn't gonna wait around another 2-3 years on Livingston I believe espn is right.
This is getting really interesting.

Everything is going crazy in the NBA right now, I just wish Wizards would get in on the trade that would send Francis to DC because he doesn't wanna play for Orlando. I hope we could send Stackhouse and Jeffries for Francis.
Then we pick Deng with the pick and our line up looks like this
Arenas/Francis
Francis/Hughes
Deng/Hughes
Kwame
Haywood

My updated top five, plus two for fun:
1. Okafor
2. Livingston
3. Howard
4. Deng
5. Iguodala
6. Gordon
7. Childress
At this time, I don't see any way we're picking anyone outside of these seven. I'm sure I could knock Okafor and Howard off the list, but they are there for completeness.
Unlike many, I don't especially have a problem with getting Childress, though that would be the least exciting thing we could do. Something about him just yells out "solid role player" in my head. I haven't seen much of him so that's more a feeling than anything else though.
Livingston is just the opposite though. Whenever I hear his name, I just get that feeling that three years down the road he's going to be something special. Again, I haven't seen nearly enough to base that on at all, but I do get the feeling.
As for Deng, Iguodala, and Gordon, I'd be plenty happy to pick up any of the three. None really yell out "future superstar" to me like Livingston, but all three do look to be solid picks. I definitely like Deng the most of the three, but the other two are either or for me.
