Larry Hughes: A Must or Bust?

I understand this guy puts up the numbers, but he would probably be benched on all the west teams and possibly most of the east teams.
I also understand that much of his numbers are produced from big playing time, fga and lack of WSH offensive options.

Is this guy overated or just blossoming?

Larry Hughes can really ball, I think he had the talent to do it a couple years ago but MJ and Wackhouse were on the team. Larry Hughes led our team to some victories last year. I wouldn't call him a bust because he proves he can score in consistent games. I also think that EJ's Princeton offense is some way Hughes can really show what he has. I like Hughes, but he isn't very special. He would get shut down in the west.

I have to question your guys basketball knowledge.

How exactly would he get shut down in the West when their are BETTER AMOUNT OF GOOD GUARDS in the East.

Hughes has already been in the West, and he dropped 40 points on Kobe Bryant 3 years ago. Last year he dropped nearly 40 on Micheal Redd.

Scoring isn't what makes a player great. He can score we all know that but the question should be if he can ever lift the rest of his game to a high level.

He isn't a bust, but he won't be an allstar. He's a good roleplayer.

Exactly. And that's all he's meant to be. A sidekick or a roleplayer. I watched a lot of the games and Hughes was a GREAT rebounder for a guard and actually brought up the ball quite a lot. He has shown he can pass well in previous and he showed brilliance in flashes this year too in that category. He's definitely not a bust.

He'd be an oustanding 3rd option, because he's so versitile... He's a great passing 2 who can ran the floor with anyone. He's more valuable than just a roleplayer, but he can't be counted on being the "man" either.

I guess no one also sees the fact that he is an exceptional defender.

That's pretty generous. He's a solid defender, definitely not a weak point in his game, but "exceptional" is a bit strong.
