The fact that Vince took the Raps within "one shot" of the conference finals mean nothing to me. That year, the much maligned Sixers made the finals, and subsequently got their asses handed to them by the Lakers.

I understand Vince is basketball in Canada, and that he sustains interest in the sport, but isn't winning a championship the purpose of a nba franchise? do the raps (or fans) honestly believe they can win anything but a playoff series with their current roster? Sooner or latr these questions will have to be answered, and those answers are going to decide the fate of VC.
Who would your lable your current "Franchise player then? Stack? Because hes gone no farther in the playoffs than Carter. Nice try though. And MJ is not the same man who played on the bulls.

Some Trades To Think about:

Toronto Gets:
Steve Smith
2003 First Rounder
2004 First and Second Rounder

San Antonio Gets:
Vince Carter

Toronto dumps Carter contract and gets Steve Smith's whose is basically equal to Carters but is up after this year, thus freeing up cap room to go after free-agents. They also get valuable picks. San Antonio gets a good SG/SF to go along Duncan.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Toronto Gets:
Tyrone Hill
Darius Miles

Cleveland Gets:
Vince Carter

Toronto gets a future star and a good PF to start this year whose contract is up after this year. Cleveland gets a legit star.

Hopefully Kwame Brown is our franchise player, which I am quite satisfied with. Stack is the guy that is going to carry us until our young players become great...after that who knows what the Wiz do with him.

If you're trying to compare our situation with Toronto's, then you will lose that argument quickly. We have more potential and more size inside than Toronto, and we have caproom after this season. The way I see it, the Wiz are steadily building a championship calibre team, while the Raps are just happy to make it to the playoffs and sell tickets. Now which would you rather have?

Nice try though.
