He's vain? I think because everyone in Japan knows him as Ichiro and everyone in the states knows him as Ichiro. Wouldn't work for most other people, but only explanation I can think of.

Brazillian footballers go by one name because the sport used to be considered for the poor, and the upper crust wanted to play too. They very well couldn't have their names published in the papers so they adopted a singular name for themselves. At least that is what I was told, they could have been messing with me.

Back to the topic. Who do you think gets embarrassed by a Yao block tonight? I think Russell gets one knocked back to half court, and Haywood gets one stuffed over him.

Only the first quarter but Yao is going to be a load to deal with. He already is a load. We are missing Jahadi right now.

L8 - 5 million, damn!

Maybe Etan can do something. Hughes having a good game.

Guess I was wrong

the big YAO did us in 2nite. I wasn't able to watch the game since I was at work but from following the game online the Wiz didn't fare well. We gotta hope we can rebound with a win in Memphis tmmw nite. Good to see Hughes doing all rite but what happened to our big men ... very inconsistent

We played well against there zone. We were a little guilty early on of trying to pass too much. No one would take a shot.

I think Kwame came out with some energy tonight but could not put it together.

How soon will it be until JJ starts in place of Russell and/or Kwame?

What I'd rather see is Jeffries start (with Haywood going to the bench) and starting Kwame at center. Im not pleased with the poor outside shooting.

The Wiz need a better shooting small forward. Russell is about as unreliable as a rookie right now.

Way OT

But I didn't want to start a completely new thread on the subject. I was reading something on the Bulls board that had me thinking about the so called "Bulls-Wiz" rivalry...

While skimming through some old threads, I've noticed that whenever a Wizard player is compared to a Bull player, the Bull player always comes out on top. For example, many (but not all)a Bulls fan claims that Rose is better than Stackhouse, Marshall is better than Jordan ( ), JWill is better than Hughes, Curry is better than Haywood, Chandler is as good or better than Kwame, etc...

But then when it comes down to comparing records, the Wizards always come out on top. Why is that? Both teams are in the East, both have very young frontcourts, and both have talent off the bench.

I dont mean to start controversy, but why is this true?

Because... uh... new subject

------------------

The winner of the who gets the highlight block by Yao appears to be Lue, who appeared on Sportscenter, driving to the hoop, only to get the ball swatted to like half court. Ouch!

That guy, Yao, is going to be so good it's sick. I think he might drop off a little bit in a couple weeks when people start focusing on him more and trying to push him outside, but he'll get it figured out and won't be stopped in the long run.

It's nice to see Hughes play a pretty good game, but it'd be nicer to win. He really doesn't look much like a PG still.

No Mobley but same result I predicted. We work so hard to score sometimes it is no wonder we don't have a lot of energy left over.

Terrible coaching Job by Collins , and terrible playing by MJ I'm not about to sit here and constantly blame Kwame and Brendan for losses I noticed Mj and Stack said we didn't have inside presence, thats wrong to say because neither Kwame nor Brendan hardly ever get touches , Kwame made a nice drive to the hoop but other than that when he or Brendan posts up they don't get a chance to work especially when Stacks in the game he'll look them off, You have to challenge Ming haywoods lateral quickness or Kwame's could have put Ming in Jeopardy and Dixon who played several Zones last year could have loosened them up with his shooting, Hawkins plays for them even when Mobely's not out and we won't even give a good shooter like Dixon a chance when everyones struggling to find a hole in a defense Dixon's used to playing against.

MJ and Stack are to blame along with Colins when Mj scores 8 pts he has to be more of a factor for the wizards to have a chance to beat good teams, the blame lies with the best players when you lose not the role guys, and I agree JJ needs to start for Russell, who hasn't hit a shot in 2 weeks . Blaming the young guys is an easy way out for Collins who wouldn't dare criticize his Boss MJ or his best player Stack, Give Kwame more touches as well as Brendan and they may develop otherwise stay off their back as if its always their fault.

Hughes and Lue I thought played well and Stack disappeared after halftime.
