Forwards

Interesting reads. got kwame listed as a center here.

I'm not liking what I'm hearing in tregard to kwame and jamison playing the 4-5.

That puts Hayes as the 3 on the floor.

Who in that line-up is gonna pass the ball.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it because it does mention Jamison playing the 3 but things will turn sour if Jamison plays the 4 and Kwame plays the 5. The interior defense will be pourous.

We need Brendan on the floor for big minutes.

But like Shanghai said Kwame being out could harm the chemsitry.

I noticed the Kwame at center thing as well, and I really hope it's just someone at the web site's opinion and not what the team is really thinking. Not that he couldn't handle the center spot -- I think he'd be fine there -- but as you say the adjusted lineup with Hayes at SF is just too offense-heavy. When Kwame is the least likely guy to fire the ball on the floor, there's a serious problem with the lineup. It's amazing how quickly my smile turns into a frown with regards to our frontcourt defense when Haywood goes to the bench.

Haywood definitely needs to start. The last thing the Wizards need is another all offense and no defense player in the starting lineup. If they really want to use Kwame at center and Jamison at power forward, expect the average over/under for their games to be around 240.

The thought of having 5 players on the floor that require the ball turns my stomach.

Only strong man defender in that line-up would be Kwame. And he hasn't been good weakside.

We need role players.

I just don't understand why teams don't see the value in guys who are content doing other things rather than scoring.

It creates good chemistry.

Haywood is a must at 5, Kwame at 4 and Jamison at 3. If we could get an unselfish or non ball handling 2 or defensive stopper I'd be happy.

They put up the guards preview, and here's a few notes:

* EJ has given Arenas a target field goal percentage of 42.0%, which is 2.8% over last year. Interestingly enough, 42% is his exact career FG%.

* EJ considers Blake the only true PG on the roster.

* Hughes has been given two goals: stay healthy and set the backcourt's tone on defense.

* The team is going with a G/G/F/F/C approach rather than the more specific PG/SG/SF/PF/C.

I'm excited about this up coming season.

But I got a not so good feeling about the chemistry.

Man there's no way the chemistry is gonna be right. Gilberts talking about bumping a vet out the allstar game.

Man all I wanna here about is winning, I don't care what they do and how they play as long as they win. I still don't know if these guys are mature enough yet not to have personal goals on the brain.

Time to win.

If Gilbert, Hughes and Jamison is gonna do all the shooting then Kwame should just focus on rebounding and lead the league doing it. Just focus on it to heck with the offense.

Can't have everyone thinking offemse.

One thing is right though as the article says offense isn't gonna be the problem defense is.

And all defense is is a commitment to winning. Nothing more nothing less.

I feel ya. I don't know about Kwame's health, that's why I can't say how big of a factor he's going to be to start the season. I'm hoping he can eventually just start racking up double doubles though.

Arenas and Jamison are going to take alot of shots. That's pretty much what I've known all summer. Their the first two options, their going to carry the team on some nights.

Hughes is going to bring the defense.

Arenas and Jamison part deux taking a lot of shots is a losing prospect with neither being efficient 1st option players.

Spread the wealth keys to victory.

Spread the wealth to who though? Kwame has his foot thing, and I know you don't want Hughes to have a bigger role.

If healthy Kwame can get buckets, Hughes rather I like it or not is gonna get buckets, Hayes is gonna get buckets and Etan and Haywood can get 8-10.

And while not a fan of Peeler at 1st I'm coming around to your thinking on him. I think he could get us some buckets.

Gil and Jamison taking alot of shots is Golden State Warriors all over again and why go through that failed situation again.

As Ernie says the team needs to come together and that may mean sharing the ball.

There's nothing worst than a defensively challenged scoring team that doesn't share the ball.

We're gonna get somewhat of a look in preseason of what kind of team we have.

I can't wait.

If Kwame's down we're doomed.

See this is the thing.

If we can get 18-20 from them both than we can get others involved but if they're both pushing 23-24 we're going down hard. Real hard.
