Dixon at PG

Dixon played some PG after Hughes went out with his wrist injury and it was somewhat painful to watch. He is not ready to play significant minutes at the PG spot and that should be painfully obvious to everyone else at this point. I know a lot of people complain about Hughes but he has been doing an admirable job running this team, and playing defense. Dixon did a lot of pounding and produced very little. Lue soon took over and the sporadic offense, which was not good all night, got noticeable better.

Whether he played well or not, if Hughes is hurt, Dixon is going to get time at the point.

Dixon will be fine as a back-up pg, Hughes has been okay intandem with lue I don't see a problem, Dixon doesn't have the natural instincts nor the great ball handling skills of a pg but given time not just a sporadic few minutes in a game they were panicking to try and win I think he'll be okay , he the other night didn't do much neither did anyone else, Lue wasn't much better, Dixon will prove now the Hughes is nicked that he's a worthy back-up, if not taking him at 17 will have been a mistake, I'm starting to wonder who made this pick who was the one who endorsed this move if it was Collins then has he realized something about Dixon that he didn't know prior to taking him, usually coach's who lobby for a player play that guy to say he was right about taking the guy, playing the back pg is no big challenge, all thats needed is some competency to do the job if he can't handle that then its been a big mistake . I got this feeling Juan will shine now that he knows his number will be called.

It will take Dixon some time to be an adequate point. When I say time I mean years not months. If Hughes is hurt he will get some time.

We should use a point forward as much as possibile in those situations because it is so clear how uncomfortable he is and teams will pressure him (if they don't it would be bad coaching). Dixon may be more effective then. I'm a believer now that he will be able to score.
