Wizards fans Official predictons
Time to move on from the silly Bulls dust-up and get back to basketball. We've had time to look at the squad during the preseason and check out the roster time to make the predictions official.
Give up the record and 3 things that will happen this season.
Wizards will finish 42-40.
1. Wizards will start terribly the 1st 15 games injuries, lack of continuity, supensions will hurt us early.
2. Wizards will make a trade by the deadline this season.
3. Wizards will finish 5th or 6th in the Eastern conference.

Wizards will finish with a record of 38-44, good for 7th in the east and 2nd in the southeast.
* First Prediction: We will have two representatives at all-star weekend, with Antawn Jamison getting the coaches vote to become a reserve forward for the east all-star team, and Jarvis Hayes being selected to play in the rookie versus sophomore game.
* Second Prediction: We will finish November with a record of 4-8; it will be our worst month of the season.
* Third Prediction: At some point during the season, Jarvis Hayes will be tried as a starter in place of Larry Hughes. It won't be permanent, and it may not even last more than a couple of games. It may begin because Hughes has to miss a game due to injury and Hayes plays well in his spot, or maybe because Hughes slumps during a losing streak and we just want to try to break out of it. I'm not going to try to predict the exact circumstances, just that at some point Hayes will get the start at SG when Hughes is ready and available to play.

A record of 35-47, 10th or 11th in the East and 3rd in the Southeast.
1. Kwame Brown will play poorly when he returns from his injury. He won't be in good shape because he sat out so long, and he'll struggle to get any touches when he plays next to Antawn Jamison. Because of that, and because of the injuries and suspensions, the Wizards will be one of the three worst teams in the East in the first three months of the season.
2. Kwame will be traded at the deadline because the Wizards will decide they don't want to match the contract he's going to get. They will trade him for a veteran guard, who will lead the Wizards to a strong finish, which won't be quite enough to make it to the playoffs, but which will have Wizards fans excited for the 2005-06 season. Larry Hughes will become the Wizards' sixth man after the trade, and he will excel in that role.
3. Gilbert Arenas will lead the league in turnovers per game.

I'm with you on Hughes I think he could be traded by allstar break or he will lose his starting job. To's will be a problem if he and Arenas share ball handiling duties. With Hayes starting Arenas will handle and less to's will occur because of Hayes's catch and shoot ability.
You seem alittle pessimistic about the Wizards record. But you're hard to convince anyway. You a hard sell. I see it though.
Jamison being an allstar is interesting, he seems a perfect fit in our offense but has seemed alittle out of sorts in the preseason. I think playing with Kwame will really help his game.
I agree the 1st month is gonna be brutal.

So then are you saying that Jarvis Hayes will become the Wizards starting 3 man and Jamison the 4 man. If so, then Washington is going to be not very good again. Hayes is a SG (their SG of the future) and Jamison is a poor PF IMO.

Heh I feel a bit at risk with even the playoff prediction. I do believe we can do well, but I've learned my lesson to keep the optimism down to a low level with our team. Every year should be our breakout year, but something always screws it up. I worry that if I were to predict a .500 record, we'd have so many injuries and chemistry problems that we'd probably finish worse than last season.

I think that's what most of us would say. Based off of what we've seen in the preseason, we would definitely not be in favor of Hayes at SF and Jamison at PF. Both have been getting wrecked at that spot on the defensive side. They wouldn't exactly become stoppers moving to the SG and SF spots respectively, but their problems there are lessened.

Your predictions are waay off. But hey its just an opinion.
Its what I'd expect from a non Wizards fan.
Kwame and Jamison will play well together. Jamison isn't a guy who requires lots of dribble and his slashing will create lots of offensive rebound opportunites and easy buckets for Kwame. Eddie Jordan said Kwame is the teams main post option and the offense is coming his way which will make everyone's job easier.
Kwame has played well most notably against the Pacers JO whom kwame played to a standtill most of all last season in their match-ups. Kwame even made the game winner on him. Kwame in the post is a smart way to approach the game by the Wizards.
Wizards brass likes Kwame and will no way trade Kwame before the allstar break now that part of your speculation is ridiculous.
A Jarvis Hayes and Jamison at the 3 and 4 will make the Wizards the worst defensive team in the league. Jamison is a terrible defender at the 4 spot Kwame is much needed there our only option to guard the big 4's like JO, Sheed and others. kwame is a great man defender .

Ha funny thing about RP's prediction is that it is such a Washington thing to do. We trade the young big for a veteran small. Within a year, the young big is quickly improving towards the all-star level. Within two years, the veteran guard has suffered a few injuries and is becoming a shell of his former self. Within three years, we have drafted another young big (near the top of the draft, where we fall after trading young big for veteran small) and the whole process repeats itself.
Good one
