This is a big game for EJ's tenure here as Wizards coach. The Wizards are teetering on the edge . A loss to Boston could have terrible consequence's for EJ as coach. He is not Ernie's man and any percieved early season trouble could lead him down a slippery slope in Ernie's eyes.

I think we come out desperate and get a win.

If not there's a trouble a commin.

I predict a blow out win actually, but it's mostly by gut feeling.

Celtics aren't very good offensively, and we us it doesn't really matter how good defensively a team is (and the celtics aren't even very good) we take so many jump shots that our scoring really depends on how well we are jump shooting that night (hopefully that changes more with Haywood playing well though). Celtics won't score that much, maybe 85 points, because the Wizards will try to play some defense (and succeed little) but mostly the celtics will just play poorly.

Pierce isn't going to light up Hughes. Hughes played him good last season, but in all honesty I think Hughes will guard Ricky Davis.

Now Pierce WILL light up Jarvis Hayes.

We have to rely on Arenas and Jamison tonight. Their the two biggest match-up advantages for us, they have nobody who can guard them.

Smart move by EJ, JJ on pierce is going pretty well.

My prediction seems to be going as planned, 20-11 wizards.

Sharp looking play in the opening half-quarter. If they called just a couple of the half dozen fouls that happened to Haywood on the inside, we'd be up double digits easy. Heh they're being loose with the whistle on both sides, so it isn't though Haywood's being treated unfair, but you still want to see at least one or two fouls called.

JJ has looked good in the starting lineup as a whole, better than going the Hayes or Ruffin route. It's helpful having someone out there who can both handle the ball and doesn't need to shoot. Of course, we'll see if he can keep it up.

Wow is it just me or does our offense and D seem way different tonight? We're making hard cuts on the Offensive side and we are playing solid D. Looks like EJ really had them ready for the game.

to Hughes on the break.

JJ needs to watch it with the three point attempt. The one thing I worry is that he'll try to start shooting more when he's playing well in the other areas of the game. He's still a dud at putting the ball in the basket, no matter how well he's doing at everything else. Don't forget it JJ. I don't mind the occasional dip into the offense when he's playing well elsewhere, but keep it down low for the most part.

Good call, well or it seems so in the first. When they subbed Hayes in he just kept getting torched by pierce.
