Exclamation Growth

I know I wrote an editorial in which 75-80% of the posters on this board blasted me telling me I didnt do research and didnt know what I was talking about. But, what I wrote has started to come true and plenty of other more knowledgeable insiders agree. MJ is definitely retarding the Growth of some of the players and its a shame. Oh well

Too early to tell for me. I think most of the disagreement had to do with the Lue aspect.

MJ slowing growth will be hard to tell. If MJ were not with the team we would have had a higher draft choice last year. Some players that are not here now would have gotten more playing time, namely Nesby and Simmons.

Does a higher draft choice slow growth. I think most teams (Chicago, Clippers) will tell you there is no gaurantee.

As a fan I never want my teams to throw away seasons, so the more games my teams can win the better. I never buy the lets get the lottery picks and build mentality. I think our young guys are growing plenty but at the same time I like watching competitve teams actually playing for something. I've been with this team through the non competitve years and it sucks we can win and let the young guys grow thats perfect for me. No team has the heart I don't care what anyone says to go through 4-5 years straight of the losing just to wait and see a competitve team. If so then why are those teams coaches fired constantly if they knew that was the plan going in. The losing makes franchises act hastily and trade away valuable young players, so the better the Wizards are while Kwame in particular grows the better so when he does develop the Wizards can continue the winning and just pick up from there.

I still have no clue who Jordan is holding back. Kwame? Kwame would be on the floor if he was playing well. The Wizards have shown that. Stackhouse? I hardly think Stackhouse needs to be coddled, he is a star in his own right. Hughes is playing the point, not SG. I can possibly see Dixon except the Wizards are grooming him to play point, and maybe Jeffries, but there is time there form him at the 3/4 as well. Laettner, Etan, and Oak are in the rotation now becasue they are bringing something Collins wants to the table. That is hardly because Jordan is playing. If you think Jordan is holding them back because he is going out there trying to win, then I really have no idea what you are talking about. The Wizards, and any team for that matter, should be out there trying to win every single game, and playing as hard as they can.

We are on the same page on this one. Just to amplify a couple of points....

Raising the kids in a winning envirnoment is worth something as well. No team has done that great a job just racking up lotto draft picks.

And despite the extra wins due to Jordan last year, the team still got Jeffries whom is a heck of a prospect.

After the first pick this year, I change my order each week as to whom the best players will be that were drafted from #2 to #11.
