Larry Hughes facing his former team again is intriguing. The Sixers not only gave up Larry Hughes for Toni Kukoc but also Bruce Bowen (and Billy Owens).

This game is a good test to see if this team is really ready to turn the corner or if it's just the 'same old wizards'. Allen Iverson has always torched us, especially at the MCI Center. This game is in Philly, and the 76'ers don't look to hot. Hopefully we won't have a let down and can improve to 7-4.

We aren't the same old Wizards. So thats out the window.
I know we're better than the Sixers but will we defend .
This game worries me. The Sixers are basically AI and friends. They don't have any other reliable scorers but they have a shooter in Korver who could give us trouble because we act like we're allergic to defending the perimeter.
But this is a show and prove game and I think we get a close victory.
Hughes will be matched up on AI and I think he'll do well. He'll force AI into bad shooting and we'll ride the 3 headed monster of Gil, Hughes, and Jamison.
Wizards win 4 straight.

Pretty much, it depends on how well AI can play.

I must say, if the Wizards can win this game I may officially become a believer of this team. I just can't see them beating the Sixers at home, but that's just me. Iverson should give Arenas fits, if Korver can come off the bench and hit a few 3's I don't think it'll be close.
My Prediction: 101-90, Sixers.

We're holding our breath waiting on you to become a believer you can believe that.
Yeah rigtht
If you really looked at the talent level the Wizards have void of anything related to Wizards past performance you could see what Wizards fans see.
But you'd rather believe in a broke down Grant Hill and company but thats your choice.
The Wizards aren't a surprise because they have the talent to win.
And Kwame and Etan aren't back yet.

Hey trust me man, I wouldn't of done all that arguing with you over the summer if I didn't think the Wiz were legitly a good team. The only real question that Wiz fans had was chemistry, but the chemistry has been nice. Arenas has matured and Jamison has been more of an impact player than anyone could of imagined. We're only going to get better when Kwame gets back.
This will be a tough game for the Wiz. Philly I believe has already blown out both the Celtics and the Knicks at home. I think they definetly play like a playoff team at home.
And it's an afternoon game, I could definetly see the Wiz getting blown out since they were horrible in the afternoon game against the Cavs.
In all honestly though, if the Wiz keep it close in the second half I think we'll win. They have no answer for Jamison. The Wiz do have an answer for AI, Arenas dropped 36 on AI last year and than Hughes dropped 43 on him. Our backcourt can really force Iverson into some turnovers.
It should be a good game. I won't be surprised of even dissapointed if the Wiz lose, and I'll be ecstatic if they win.

All that arguing we did over the summer-- if you think about, what could be better than both of our teams playing well and being in the playoff picture? At the end of the day, I may be wrong about the Wizards, but as long as my Magic play well and get in the playoffs I'm fine. I'm sure it's the same way with you.

Is this really necessary? I mean, is it impossible for you to be civil to someone who doesn't believe the same things you do, or doesn't think that your team is good? Where have I ever been uncivil to you or any other Wizards fan? Because we don't agree you feel the need to act like that.

I do see what you see, I just don't think that the Wizards have what it takes to consistently win games. I've gone over it a million times why I think it, and it's not because of talent. I never questioned that. Look what the Pacers are doing right now with a lineup of Tinsley, Fred Jones, James Jones, Austin Croshere and David Harrison. Look at what the Suns did with all their talent last year. Amare Stoudemire, Joe Johnson, Shawn Marion and Stephon Marbury for part of the year. 29 wins. It isn't all about talent.

I like the division being competitive. I would rather Orlando have be a good team and give us good competition as opposed to being a terrible team and letting us just take 2nd place. I think both our teams would win the Atlantic if given the chance, but 2nd place in the Southeast will be well earned this season. I think Miami might be a lock for 1rst place, but I think it's a situation we're all 3 teams from the division can make the playoffs. I wouldn't of liked the Magic's playoff chances if Grant Hill wasn't playing like his old self. But he is, and when Mobley gets back you guys have enough to be good.
But you have to understand, for Wizards fans it's all about getting respect. The media still ignores the Wiz, and even alot of fans aren't taking us seriously. Magic are naturally getting hyped as an early season surprise cause of Hill, but the Wiz because of past reputation have been brushed to the side. I swear ESPN will find a way not to broadcast the Wizards when they make the playoffs, they'll act like that playoff seed doesn't exist. The Wiz just gotta keep winning I suppose..

Listen man I respect the magic and think they have one of the better teams in the Eastern conference. They have name recognition thats earned with solid play. But I think the media tends to reach too far when discussing them.
I thought they stole from the Rockets in the Tmac trade. I thought it was a one sided landslide for the magic maybe the best trade any team has made in years. They essentially traded 3 starters for 1. With Francis being an elite pg, Mobley a 2nd tier 2 and Cato a solid banging 4/5. I think the Rokets over valued Tmac. In all actuality he's not that much more of a player than francis is and then the others made the trade a killer.
As for the Wizards I think we have with the Jamison trade proven scorers and players on the cusp. We have players who've not won consistently but now finally have the experience to understand winning.
We're athletic, big and deep at every postion.
We're slept on based on our history.
We're playing well and kwame who's ready to become one of the best pf in the game isn't available yet.
Its funny our division was said to be the worst in basketball but its shaping up to maybe be the best in the Eastern Conference.
I think all 3 teams ( The Wizards, Magic and the Heat) are gonna be playoff teams.
Those other teams not named the Pacers, Pistons and Cavs, lack size and balance from a roster perspective.
I'm just busting your chops don't take offense at my snide remarks its all in good fun. You still don't know what you're talking about but the battle in the East between our teams is gonna be fun to watch.
