Dnp??
Wow.
How well do you all think Collins is handling Kwame's swoon of late?
I don't think he's doing it the best way. Kwame has a tendency to crawl into a turtle shell when things get hard on him, and benching him, and not playing him will make it worse.
Granted, he seemed to be costing the team wins, and his minutes seemed to be useless, but I don't think this is the way to groom him for the future. Just IMO though, what do you all think?

I view it that it is still early in the season and Kwame will work his way back into playing time. I don't think Kwame is as fragile as last year. He has a lot of players on this team that can help him in this regard, namely Hughes (from past experiences), Dixon, JJ, and Etan that are going through the same thing.
Collins and MJ said that the young players are going to have to fight for thier minutes and I have no problem with that.
I predict that Kwame will be providing quality minutes by the mid-point in the season.

At least he is healthy and not sitting because of a bad knee or something.

The fact that Collins and Jordan tried to blame their early losses at Kwame is a joke. No blame went to Russell, Hughes, or Haywood, who were playing also playing poorly.
Collins better realize that this team isn't going anywhere this year without contributions from Kwame.

I agree the teams turnaround has more to do with MJ's starting and Hughes's improved play than with Laetner's or Oakley's increased playing time. There are drawbacks to every move but they act as if Laetners drawbacks have suddely become null and void, some nights Laetner plays like he's sluggish and brings no energy. He's not a good athlete so his interior defense is pathetic, he can't battle against the more athletic pf's. So him starting isn't a panacea it's MJ starting that may be. Can't waste an athletic pf with a DNPCD, something Collins said last year seems to ring true in my ears now, he said that he hopes Kwame doesn't hate him for the things he does to him and not want to re-sign with the Wizards when the time comes. Kwame speaks of not forgetting these things can't help but wonder when he develop's into the star I believe he will become that he won't go looking for his own team to be a player feeling he's never felt this one was his to start with. These are similar things Rip talked about when he was referred to as the cornerstone, coming from this franchise it means very little to have that said about you, CWebb, Rasheed Wallace, Ben Wallace, Kwame Brown?

I think any damage done to the relationship (I'm not sure there has been serious damage) has time to be repaired.
We all agree that a healthy, energetic, smart Kwame is our best option to start. He will be getting his shots because God knows L8 has his limitations as you have said.
I'm being patient that he will start to perform better first and that his time will come.

Kwame Brown will be a helluva player...just not for the Wiz.
I don't think Collins and Kwame will ever see eye to eye.

I don't expect Collins to be around when Kwame is ready to bust it out.
