Kwame: In or Out?
There has been a lot of speculation that Kwame might be traded. Do you think he will be traded or not? I personally believe that he won't be traded and that Ernie Grunfeld knows what he is doing. I believe that if it came down to Kwame vs. Eddie Jordan, Ernie would get rid of Eddie first.

What kind of deal do you think Kwame could fetch at this point?

I don't think there's a thing behind Kwame trade talks that have suddenly popped up. A combination of the fact that he hasn't done much this season (general public doesn't care why) and the suspension has everyone assuming he's all but out the door.
It certainly isn't impossible, but I think it's little more than people jumping the gun as they always do when anything like this comes up.

These are just internet fed rumors.
I thought Ernie G's response was telling about the incident he said Kwame was an important part of the team and we will move forward. He also said that sometimes these things happen.
Seems very odd that the GM wouldn't echo the sentiments of the coach or back the coach in the matter.
My speculation is that Ernie prefers the team with the philosophy centered around the inside play of the bigmen EJ prefers the opposite.
They butted heads last season over this issue.
I think this is probably EJ's last season as Wizards coach just a hint Ernie like any gm wants to hire his own coach and I think the philosophical difference is gonna drive EJ out the door. He believes in an offense 1st philosphy spearheaded by perimeter play.
In Jersey they always relied on a perimeter game and had no real use for true bigmen like Mutombo. He wanted guys to run the floor and finish and not a pound it inside post game.
Usually the gm sides with the coach with a strong statement about how things are gonna be done.
He didn't do this with Eddie.

Grunfield hired Eddie Jordan himself the same offseason he was hired.

No he didn't. Abe Pollin hired EJ before Abe hired Ernie G.
EJ is not Ernie's hand picked guy.

Espn says the Raptors, Hawks, Sonics, and Knicks are interested in Kwame. After looking at their rosters and potential deals, I can only say that if they do trade Kwame and its not for a deal involving Rashard Lewis, I will quit basketball for good.

And why pray tell is Kwame worth a guy like Rashard Lewis? Seattle isn't trading him. Kwame has yet to even avg. a double double yet. You're not going to get a lot for him, if he continues to make negative news and underperform.

I'm not saying Seattle would be wise to make this trade. I was just trying to convey how much I want Kwame to stay. We have put three good years into him and I do not want to let him go unless it is for a proven player.

However, Seattle is near desparate for a player with size. At 7 feet and 270 pounds, and only being 22 years old, he is rather appealing

Unfortunately Nene and and one of Curry/Chandler are also probably available on the trade market. Rare to see such young big and talented players all on the market at the same time, rare to see any really. So that doesn't help Kwames value either.
This year has just been brutal for Kwame, first injury, and then when he gets back he is coming back to a team that is winning using 3 players dominting that ball and shots. Extremely hard to work back into the lineup and get those guys to give you the ball as a post player.

Kwame has looked very good in the last few games. He played better defense on Shaq than we've seen in a long while. He's also scored in the post whenever he's gotten the ball.
Trading him would be stupid, he's going to be huge in the second half of the season.
