what a bad shooting night for everyone besides Kwame, and his shots were pretty ugly.

Kwame needs to work on his post-up defense.

1st off the Wizards aren't gonna struggle with any team with a good bigman. Shaq is the biggest baddest bigman in the league.Kwame and Brendan can handle any other bigs in the league. Shaq is a problem for everyone and when Jamison is your weakside help you're in trouble.

Our Idiot coach refused to do what Sac, did and Portland did years ago and thats put our two big guys in the game at the same time against Shaq and wall him off.

Instead our Idiot coach plays either Haywood or kwame instead of playing them both tonight.

If we played them both we could have had some weakside shot blocking and stopped the easy buckets. Instead we stay with one or the other then both picked up fouls with Jamison coming as the weakside defender which means we don't have a weakside defender.

Jamison is the worst pf defender in the league hands down he doesn't ever help weakside and is terrible on the ball.

Hughes is just a selfish ******* . He doesn't pass to anyone.

He was constantly taking bad shots.

Arenas I thought played the right way he just wasn't hitting.

Jamison offensively against the heat was initimidated. He only shoots jumpers long ones. Ventured in the paint only couple times.

Kwame is coming around. Was hitting his jumper and made some nice moves on the block.

Kwame needs his damn starting spot back JJ needs to go to the bench.

Its time to go with the Big line-up Ernie Grunfeld intended.

Kwame seems to have gotten his legs back some.

He guarded Shaq well for stretches . He got in foul trouble and it was a wrap.

I just don't know if the Wizards believe they can beat the Heat. Hughes and Jamison play so perimeter and intimidated against them.

Arenas is a soldier who mans up and goes inside against Shaq trying to draw fouls.

Jamison and Hughes never do.

Work on his post up defense did you watch the game.

He played Shaq okay, gambled a few times but otherwise played him much better than Haywood did who's clearly much weaker than Kwame is.

Kwame made Shaq take some tough shots.

He got dunks galore against Haywood.

Kwame is a great man defender. But

This is Shaq we're talking about.

The offense needs to run through Kwame, plain and simple. If EJ is dumb enough to think Larry Hughes should be taking more shots than Kwame, than he should be fired.
Yeah I feel you on this. Kwame and Gilbert in the pick and roll is pretty nice. Great quickness from both . Puts teams at a disadvantage.

Larry Hughes is a growing joke. He just dribbles and dribbles and dribbles.

Gilbert needs the ball in his hands.

I'm not sure what some of you guys are talking about, i thought Kwame played pretty good D on Shaq. Way better than Haywood.
Kwame looked really good, he'll be a dominant force down low this season for us.

We need to start taking better shots, our FG% is just horrendous.

By the way, I will never call Jamison our best player.

He doesn't seem to show up against good teams. Also, when his shot isn't falling he's completely useless and dissapears from the game. At least Gilbert can get to the ft line, Jamison just dissapears.

Agreed.

Gilbert I thought was doing the right things. When Shaq struggles its because pg's challenge him to have to cover the pick and roll and Arenas gets it. He dove into the paint on Shaq several times. Drawing fouls and beating Shaq to the paint.

Problem is Hughes handled the ball too much , he takes away from Arenas's effectiveness.

Hughes handles the ball like he's the point man.

He gets worse when he's not making shots he dominates the ball.

As for Jamison. He's just a spot up scorer.

Against good teams he takes his game so far from the paint he's not effective.

Its a joke to call him a post option.

He wasn't even punishing Laetner who plays terrible defense.

if EJ was smart as coach. He could force the match-up with Haslem guarding kwame downlow or Laetner. And kwame would kill either guy. Forcing them to double thus getting our perimeter open shots.

But instead he uses kwame as the back-up center only having Shaq guard kwame which makes it tougher so the heat won't ever double on Shaq's man.

A Kwame, Brendan, Jamison frontline would be best because it gives us size and forces the Heat into bad match-ups guarding the bigger Jamison at 3 and the bigger kwame at 4.

From all that I've read here and elsewhere about this game, it has to be regarded as Kwame's due and proper comeback. He stepped up, both for his team and for his own dignity. And he decked Shaq My heart soared!

How can Jordan not put him in the starting lineup now? Does he need Hughes's consent?

I'm with jazzy1. After tonight, there's nothing to lose in trying a dual bigman strategy against Shaq.

I know it's a joke, but man does it feel like it's the truth. I don't think I mentioned EJ in this particular game thread, but he's still not someone I'm much of a fan of for us.
