Man, why do I get the feeling that later in the season teams will look to hack Ruffin to send him to the line? He's like Shaq at the stripe. Without the benefits of strong finishes and defensive dominance.
They will if they're smart. It's absolutely beyond my comprehension as to how EJ can play Ruffin entire 4th quarters. Yes, tips on the offensive glass are nice, but they don't nearly make up for playing 4 on 5 basketball.

And just to further drive me down, once the Warriors come back to tie the game at 97, we decide bringing in Hayes into the action is the answer. EJ is a bumpkin.

I could understand Buckhantz not understanding the last play, but Phil? Come on man. The foul occured with 0.8 left on the clock, which is why that's the number they added back onto the clock. Play stops when the foul occurs, not when the ball goes through the basket.

GIL KILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, it was a simple continuation. But it would have been nice if that was the end. Making the Warriors line up at the line with no hope and 0.0 on the clock would have made great comedy.

I love Arenas. He was on my top ten favorite list before he even came to Washington, and he just seems to further and further cement himself on top with each passing game. Go Gil!

yea, i remember him winning the mvp of the rookie/sophmore game a couple years ago. i told my old college buddy 'man, if we could sign that kid....the sky is the limit.' he said 'good luck, i don't think the warriors letting him go'....silly rabbit

Heh I did the same thing when I was new on the site. We needed a PG, and we were talking about Terry and Claxton as the prime options. Arenas was brought up from time to time, and I always said I thought we had no chance and shouldn't bother focusing our effort on him. I was so excited when I saw he signed the offer sheet.

Phew...we needed that win, we looked like the old Wizards choking it away down the stretch. Big play by Gil!

Anybody else notice Kwame pull off those two Tim Duncan-esque moves, drawing the foul when the defender is reaching too far? One was pointed out, but he also did it earlier. It's good to see he's learning some things from a player like TD.

I'm really starting to question whether Dixon should play at all. He hasn't shown much in a while and almost seems like a liability.

We've down all I asked for on this road trip so far so a win at Sacramento or Minnesota is just a bonus. Things are looking up!

Man our backcourt is CLUTCH.

Jamison is great, but where would be without our backcourt creating in the clutch? I'm glad EJ isn't dumb enough to run plays for Antawn when the game is on the line.

Hughes hit a crazy jumper with about a minute left.

Gilbert's gamewinner was the icing on the cake. That wasn't your typical gamewinner, that was a crazy tough reverse scoop shot at the buzzer while getting contact. That was a superstar shot right there and Gil can hit those all day.

My only complaints on the team right now are Juan Dixon and Jarvis Hayes. These guys are HORRIBLE, I dislike our entire bench really except Peeler and Kwame, and Kwame just hurt the team tonight with all the TOs. We really need to improve our bench.
