Playoff rule that sucks
this sucks big time! Wizards, at 13-9, are record-wise the 3rd best team in the east, but because of this new division rule, we would be 5th, with Cleveland (14-10) and New York (12-11) ahead of us.
I think that's really unfair!

I agree, but they've got to ensure that there is incentive to win a division. Plus, there's the potential that we could play a higher seeded team with a worse record, giving us the rare chance to win a first round series!

division winners have always had the higher seeds. That didnt change
but if you have a better record and you face the higher seed in a series, you would have homecourt even though you would be the lower seed
also the same as last year. Remember NJ/DET. NJ was second seed, DET was the third, but Detriot had homecourt

Wade accomplished this in two consecutive series in the 2005 playoffs.
2. Joined Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson, and Allen Iverson as the only players ever to record games of 40+ points, 10+ rebounds, and 15+ assists in the same playoff season in 2005.
3. Holds the record for being the only player in NBA history to ever average at least 30 points on 69.5 field goal percentage for four consecutive NBA playoff series games (5/23/06-5/29/06). The last record was held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 63%. Wade accomplished it with less than 20 field goal attempts per game
4. Fifth player in NBA history with at least 30 points, 15 assists and 5 rebounds in a playoff game (5/10/05 vs. WAS). The others are Magic Johnson, Jerry West, Walt Frazier and Oscar Robertson.
5. One of four players in NBA history to have at least 30 points and 12 assists in three consecutive games (November 24-27, 2006). The others are Oscar Robertson, Nate Archibald, and Kevin Johnson. [5]

Yeah, as the other divisions aren't that strong, the Wizards can hope to face New York in the first round and so Washington would really be able to win it!!!

Wizards would win every first round series except against the heat

I wouldn't be so sure.
Detroit is... well, there's a reason they're the champs.
The pacers are going to be very good once they get O'neal/Jackson back. They'll still be contenders.
Orlando matches up pretty well with Washington, that matchup could go either way.
Cleveland has lebron, and until we can see what he can do in the playoffs, i wouldn't rule them out.

My dream matchup for the playoffs would be the Wiz/Magic playing in the 4/5 game. The teams are just so similar at every position. Arenas and Francis, both masters of offense, and weaker on defense, would go for 40 each night. It would be fantastic to watch.

...and the way the standings are now, that's just the way things would break. But that would mean our second round opponent would be Miami.
