I'll be going to this one, so here's hoping for a win

I'll update the player of the game thread for the past two tomorrow hopefully. Been busy since Friday.

I think we win, this isn't a team that's going to take advantage of our poor defense, i think they score in the 90's, we score in the 100's, we win.

I expect a loss. We can't compete with good teams and although Detroit struggles to score they will lock folks down.

With EJ benching Haywood for long stretches and our inability to get easy buckets this game will be tough to win. Haywood could score against ben Wallace but he can't seem to get floor time which is a mystery to me. Ruffin is a coach favorite for whatever reason.

Rasheed Wallace will lock down Jamison much like KG did and we struggle to get points.

If Kwame plays from a defensive standpoint he can hold Sheed down but if he's out with injury which is likely Jamison will give up post buckets to Sheed.

I think the guards pretty much cancel themselves out.

I have been reading your critical comments about EJ for a while and thought that some or most were not valid.

But I think I have come over to your dark side now. After going to the game (Charlotte) and seeing how much success Haywood had in the first half, to watch EJ tinker with the guard packages and not give some post work to Haywood in the second half was frustrating. Seems he is happy that we turn into a jump shooting team. I will be interested to see if he will be trying to play small ball with the Pistons because if we do and we are not hitting shots it is over.

I did like seeing Arenas and Hughes take it to the hoop in that game.

My main criticisms of EJ are 2 things.

His insistence on coaching the game from a perimeter mindset and the lack of a defensive focus to the game.

When Haywood or Kwame have clear advantages inside he''l stick both on the bench in favor of Ruffin at the 5 and Jamison at the 4 and then he'll bring in Hayes to jack up bad shots.

Most of his comments regarding the team are of the offensive variety. With EJ after games.

Phil Chenier commented on how the Wizards were getting confused on a simple splits play run by the TWolves with JJ and Hughes defending the play.

It happens all the time. This team gets so out of whack with its defensive rotations that they give up ridiculously high fg% to opposing teams. Because teams are getting way too many wide open looks.

I have nothing against EJ as a man he's from my hometown I would love nothing more to cheer him on but he's too offensive minded and too perimeter oriented.

Haywood could have gotten 25 against the Bobcats but he went outta the game with about 6 minutes to go in the 3rd and didn't return to the game.

He's played the big line-up with Jamison, Kwame and brendan a grand total of about 6 minutes this season. This is the line-up that Ernie talked about seeing when he brought in Jamison. This is our best defensive line-up and our best offensive one also.

I just think EJ has an assistant coach mentality and that he clearly plays favorites instead of playing the talent.

Jarvis Hayes has been downright horrible for the last 3 weeks but he's always the 1st guy off the bench and gets more time than JJ does who is playing better ball.

Hayes says his finger is hurting but it doesn't prevent him from jacking shots up. He is very one dimensional but an EJ favorite.

Yeah, the Bobcat game was the first one that I went to all season. Things really jumped out at me at the game that didn't on TV. It will be interesting to here MJG's take as I think he is going to this one.

I think Kwame is still questionable.

At halftime it's a blowout with the Wizards winning by 17 points. And the Wizards are good in the 3rd quarter usually so this game is looking pretty good.

And I predicted a loss, eh?

Oh, and Kwame is dressed but is sitting at the end of the bench. Don't think he'll get any PT.

As i thought, the pistons dont have any offensive structure, so they cant take advantage of our poor defense. And we dont take easy shots anyways so we were gonna score points, im glad i bet this game in our favor.

Ah nice to see Kwame out there rocking the end of the bench all night.
How many FTs did we end up shooting in the 2nd half? 3?
Knew I should have just turned off the game instead of getting pissed off

Would have been nice to see offensive goaltending called when the ball is just sitting on the rim eh?
