Official Thread: Wiz @ TOR 12/15/2002
We get a chance to revenge the loss we had earlier this year to them. This is one of the teams we need to beat out if we are going to the playoffs. I think we win this one.

A msut win game for the Wiz right now, no doubt about it. Stackhouse needs to lead this team to victory and get solid perfomances from MJ, Hughes and Kwame to win the game.

This might sound dumb but I actually think the Wiz do better when MJ comes off the bench. I've noticed since he's been starting their offense is so unstable and it looks like nobody knows what they are doing (compared to MJ they don't!) but I'd let Stackhouse run the offense until MJ comes in the game. Furthermore start Kwame to get his confidence back he's too good to be sitting on the bench, if he messes up give him an earful but keep him in the game! Thats just my opinion though
Wiz desperately need to win this game!

I agree w/ Wizards1 totally ... after what happened against NJ ... Stack has to be the main man for the Wiz to win ... Last year when the wiz were doing well it was Hamilton being the featured player and Jordan being the decoy ... Remember Jordan referred to himself as "tonto" to Hamilton's Lone Ranger .. or something like that ... Wiz win 2day ... 90-78 Lets go WIZ!!!

I am... finals are finally over, so now I've got time.
The Wiz are looking pretty good tonight. MJ's not shooting worth a damn, but I like the fact that they're effectively playing him at the point and having him distribute. Especially since the Raptors are eager to double him, he's getting good looks for the other players. I'd like to see them do this more often.
Hughes is a big beneficiary of this. During this last stretch of games, he hasn't had the responsibility of having to make decisions, and the (good) results are obvious.
Kwame needs more looks. He's kind of like a lot of young players in the sense that, when the action isn't directed towards him, he seems to tune out. When plays are run for him though, he seems like he's more interested in general. Of course, the goal is to keep him playing intense ALL the time, but at this point, we need to recognize reality too and do what it takes to keep him involved.

Michael Jordan sacrificed a lot of his game offensively today to get the team going. He did take about 9 or 10 shots but that was mainly, off of the good play of others rather than him getting a shot without moving the ball. The offense really looked like it flowed, the ball moved, and we got easy shots, which have been rare indeed. The guys really responded, and I think this is one of our better played games this year.

Offensively we played well, but we were awful on defense.
I agree with MikeDC on needing the offense to flow through Kwame to keep him interested. The thing is that in the Wiz offense, the center really does nothing in the offense (aside from setting screens). Kwame isn't much of an offensive rebounder, so if he's not touching the ball offensively, he's going to produce very little

This was a good win not necessarily because of the opponent but how we did it was impressive. Someone out of the MJ, Stack ,Hughes trio had to back off the shooting and MJ doing so may make the Wizards a serious factor in the east. If MJ can concentrate on the facillitator role while Hughes and Stack continue the scorers role we could be on to something. Also we actually ran sets for our big men and they came through. Kwame played terrific. He has so much potential that if they give him the ball and clear out space he can become an offensive weapon. Just 1 win against a bad team but the formula is one we can win with against anybody.
Welcome back T Lue.

I don't know if Lue is back just yet. His first possession came at the start of the second quarter and he proceeded to hammer the ball, not making a pass, dribbling back and forth, and throwing up a 20 footer himself. He took 7 shots in very limited action. I was still disappointed in what I saw.
