Official Thread: Wiz @ ATL 12/17/2002
The Hawks have really been struggling. There ownership gauranteed the play-offs this year. Not a smart move.
The Wiz win.

Atlatnta can play a good game though, they have been up and down all year long and Newble is a very good defender.

He looks good in the highschool ranks but in the NBA he won't be getting open looks at 3 point shots and he won't have open lanes to dunk the ball, but do to the fact he's a team player I think he'll be very successful if he keeps his head on straight i.e. doesn't get a big head, messes with drugs, women, and all that.

I think the Wiz win. The Hawks play zone on defense, so the Wiz need to make their shots. They also turn the ball over at a ridiculous clip, so we need to run as much as possible.

This game will be very tough. Ratliff will be problematic with his shot blocking presence. But I think the Wiz get this one. Kwame I think is starting to resurface. Brendan is playing well and Hughes is playing out of is mind consistent. Collins has decided to try and take the ball inside more which I think Kwame and our young bigs can thrive on. Kwame will do a good job on Shareef. Only problem will be big dogg. Stack isn't a good defender and he could carve us up.
Welcome back T Lue.

Welcome back T Lue is correct. As he struggled the team struggled. Right now this teams needs most of the parts to be playing well to win. I think MJ is going be creative about what he needs to give in order for this team to be successful.

I think the Hawks haven't been playing very well ... They've lost their last 3 games ... I think that they are a pretty athletic team w/ some very good scorers in Big Dog, Jason Terry, and Shareef ... I think if the Wiz play like they did against Toronto ... they should win this one ... Stack has to start off well early and Jordan setting up the offense and shooting the ball better and the Wiz has to have some kind of inside presence to succeed ... Wiz win 101-94

You guys are not paying attention.
T Lue is not back. He hit a couple of shots against a weak Toronto team, but he was easily scored over, and did an extremely poor job of distributing the ball or running the offense.
If anyone has a tape please watch the Wizards first few possessions of the second. It was horrendous when placed in the context of what hey had done up to that point.
What got us back on track was the commitment to move the ball like Doug has asked over the past few games. Not only did Jordan participate but so did Laettner. T Lue is still behind.

I guess I agree that his playmaking is not back (really it never has been there) but his shot is back. Better yet, his reluctancy to take his shot is gone. I noticed that when he started having issues he would not fire away when open. I think we need him to do that since we generally have a lack of shooters on our team.

Man T Lue is back just kidding all I'm saying is he made a couple baskets thats all before that he made none. So any production is better than no production. I gree with all you've said about him and I don't believe he deserves any credit for the teams improved play. You're correct they did move the ball the better than they have all season.

You're right. The Wizards are currently tied for 8th spot for the playoffs. The season's still got a long way to go, but we gotta beat teams like Atlanta who would beat us out for the spot.
The team has some momentum after a good victory.
Let's go Wizards!
