Kwame and Larry back after the break: WT and WP
Looks like we have our full squad after the break. I think EJ should insert both Kwame and Larry in the starting lineup right away. Kwame performs better as a starter for one and JJ is excellent off of the bench. This is the starting lineup that we can take further in the playoff also.
PG: Arenas
SG: Hughes
SF: Jamison
PF: Brown
C: Haywood
Quote from EG from the Times:
"In this business, you never say never. [But] I believe in continuity and consistency. We are going to add two players [guard Larry Hughes and forward Kwame Brown] after the All-Star Game without having to give up anybody, so we are going to get some bodies in here. The way I see it, the chemistry is really good, and we've still got room for growth."
From the Post:
Kwame Brown (right ankle inflammation) said yesterday that he plans to return to the team on either Feb. 23 against Memphis -- the first game following the all-star break -- or Feb. 25 in Chicago. Brown, a fourth-year forward-center, has been on the injured list since Jan. 12. He shot jumpers after practice for the first time since he removed a protective boot from his right foot earlier this week.
"It's the first time that I felt like I can actually play. I've just got to work on my conditioning and after the all-star break, I'll be looking to come back," said Brown, who is averaging 5.6 points and 3.4 rebounds in 14 games this season. Since having offseason surgery to repair a broken bone in his foot, Brown has made two unsuccessful attempts to become a part of the rotation this season. "It's actually no pain this time," he said. "Before it was a little pain, I felt like I was going to tough it out and was gradually getting worse. Now there is no pain from the gate, so I hope that'll be a good thing."
Brown had his hair unbraided, leaving him with a huge Afro yesterday, but Coach Eddie Jordan said he still recognized the 7-footer. "He made a three-point shot. That's when I recognized him," Jordan said. "Then I saw him trying to do too much on the floor and I said, 'Kwame are you supposed to do that?' He said, 'No.' I said, 'Stop!' He's not doing anything serious. He's not bopping and jumping, just skipping and hopping."
Brown was excited to jump on his injured right foot for the first time in several weeks. "That's the first time they allowed me to jump without saying nothing. Maybe I snuck in some on my own," Brown said with a smile. "But I think this time, they really want to make sure that I'm healthy." .

Fat chance of Brown actually starting, but I agree he should.

Thats our best line-up our best 5 players.
Kwame should be starting, I can't explain EJ's rationale behind anything at this point. But I'm glad to hear that Kwame finally feeling no pain. We have a chance to really take off if the chemistry fits in the 2nd half of the season.

Considering that we're winning games with a line-up of-
Arenas
Hayes
Jeffries
Jamison
Haywood.
Now replace that with-
Arenas
Hughes
Jamison
Kwame
Haywood
I mean wow, It's hard not to be excited. If Kwame gets back to how he was in the second half of the year, how good are we? We also strengthen our bench with Dixon/Hayes/Jeffries/Etan/Ruffin.

Wizards Insider
Quote:
After 15 games, the Washington Wizards have a winning record since guard Larry Hughes went down with a broken right thumb.
"I hate to say we're happy, but we're surviving -- on the good side," Coach Eddie Jordan said. "We're not surviving where we're almost dying. We're surviving where things look promising because" Hughes is expected to return Feb. 23.
"I was talking to my assistants this morning and I was like, we're 8-6 without Larry," Jordan said before the Wizards played the Detroit Pistons last night. "We were [7-5] in the month of November with Larry and we were jumping for joy." . . .
The Wizards, who will face the New Orleans Hornets on Monday, and Heat are the only teams that have not lost to a team currently in last place in the six divisions (New Orleans, New York, Milwaukee, Atlanta, Golden State and Utah). The Wizards have yet to face Utah this season.

This is the quote I love from today's article.
"It's still no excuse, but we really need Kwame -- he's big, physical," Jamison said. "And sometimes, you don't realize the importance of one guy until you go through opportunities like this. When we played against Shaq and when we played against this team, the physical teams, we need him. But he's got to make sure he's 100 percent and when he comes back, he can help us."
It is nice to see Kwame getting some love. This is why Jamison is the clue. I hope EJ agrees and gives Kwame some quality time when he comes back.

I agree that Kwame should start and when him and Hughes get back, our team is going to be stacked and will make some noise in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. I agree that Kwame is much better as a starter then off the bench and vise versa for Jared Jeffries. Our team'll be 10 deep with Dixon, Thomas, Jeffries, Hayes, Ruffin coming off the bench making a super 2nd unit.

Hornets First Round Pick Chris Paul on playing with J.R. Smith:
"It's going to be too exciting to play alongside J.R. He loves to play above the rim and I love to put it above the rim for him to catch it. I'm just excited because he's a young, up-and-coming player just like myself."
