Trades

There hasn't been much talk this year about possible trades. A sharp shooting 3 man would be nice since Russell hasn't panned out in that role.

If we have a total melt down is it possible we trade Stack?

I don't see a meltdown so trading Stack is out.

I do see that we need a sharpshooter. I would think on the 'tradeable and has some value' list would be, Russell and L8. I know L8's cap number is bad but there are teams that may want him.

I think Russell is possible since we have options at the three and there would be interest for a durable, veteran guy like him.

As far as trades are concerned there are a couple teams that I know will entertain trades, so lets get specific.

One team I think will make trades. the Clippers. Odom, Maggette, Richardson, Piatkowski, could be available. I'd take Richardson if I had my choice to take. They would take Laet seeming as they will lose Kandi and possibly Brand. So a Laet for some of those guys could possibly happen. I like Richardson because he gives us the size, and 3 pt shooting as well as defense and intensity.

Now the other team who might make moves is Portland, with the PR hit they're taking they might want a couple good guys to transform that roster some. Anderson, Stoudamire, Patterson, maybe Woods could possibly be had who of ours would they want. I'm not sure maybe if Jahidi got healthy which is real iffy at this point, Laet probably not, JJ maybe when he got healthy I don't know. just one team I think might make some moves.

Players I wouldn't even consider trading from the Wizards.

Kwame Brown- no way once he locks in he could become a superstar.

Etan Thomas- too solid could become very good once his playing time increases.

Larry Hughes- I've fallen for this guy I'm convinced we have gotten the bargain of the year in free agency. He makes shots doesn't force things plays great defense. Kepper.\

Juan Dixon - love his heart, effort intensity and scoring.

Guys who I'd like to see moved.
1. Laet- no comment.
2. Jahidi

I'm not usre about guys

Stack verdicts still out for me a meltdown by the Wiz does get him moved in a hot minute.

JJ- not sure what position he plays, now with the injury he won't have the quickness to play the 3 so he'll always be an undersized 4 without great explosion. We may have made a mistake taking him, Woods may have been a better option.

Brendan- good bad and ugly from him. Plays well some nights and then others doesn't get a rebound should be more consistent would have to get something good to move him though.

Lue I like him but could always be a throw in guy in any moves. ,

So Jazzy1, are you saying that the Wiz can get Q or Maggette for LAettner? I know they need a big man, but you're going to have to offer much more than that. They can get much better than L8 for one of those guys.

Forget Q, I would trade L8 for a pack of cigarettes... and I don't smoke.

No not by himself but with a package it could happen , lets face it the Clips are going to lose most of those players,Syerking isn't fessing up the dough for maybe 1 of those guys if that so there may be an auction occuring and with Laet's contract being only 5 Mil or so with only a couple years left he could be a Vet they could use to plug a hole until his contract runs out.

I actually think L8 is pretty valuable. He passes and shoots well, and when he's motivated he's a very good player.

I'd trade Jahidi for a doughnut right now.

LOL With all the claims I've heard about how much weight Jahidi's put on, it wouldn't surprise me if he wanted to trade himself for a doughnut...

Yeah he was supposed to be back by now or at least running with the team. It doesn't look good for a positive contribution this year.

As I was saying in the other thread, I think Odom would be a good replacement for MJ.

He's a wonderful passer, and having a guy like him would take the pressure off of Hughes, who isn't a natural PG.

A lot is riding on Stack, and I'm pretty conflicted about his play this year. On one hand, he does a lot of things well, but on the other, I don't have a lot of confidence in his defense or toughness. I think I'd be more than willing to trade him for, say Odom and Maggette or Q.

Jason Terry is supposedly on the block.

Even funnier was that the Hawks were considering trading him for Antonio Daniels.

If they're willing to dump him for that loser, surely the Wiz could offer something for him?

He, Stack, and Hughes would make a great backcourt trio for the next few years.

We would offer them Etan and TLue.... I think that's good terms for us, and it's certainly better than Antonio Daniels for the Hawks.

PG - Terry, Hughes, Dixon (IR)
SG - MJ, (Hughes), Simmons
SF - Stack, Russell, Jeffries (IR)
PF - L8ner, Kwame, Oak, Cardinal
C - Haywood, (L8ner), (Kwame), White (IR)

------------------

If they want salary cap relief, I'd be willing to swap Jahidi for Allen Henderson. I think the trade would work that way, and Henderson's probably a somewhat better player than Jahidi.

I am not a Jason Terry fan personally.

I do think that Etan needs to be traded though. I see more Scott Williams in his game than Dale Davis, as WizardsKev sees. His hands are horrible, and with Laettner, Kwame, and Jeffries inside, we don't really have time for him in the rotation.

We need a shooter.

I actually dislike him as a player alittle inside information I'm privy to. He seems to make bad decisions and turns the ball over. Plus his defense and fouling worry me alittle. I like Etan ,I think he could develop into a sort of Brian Grant type player a guy who eats boards and blocks shots. He's one of our few power players with his strength and toughness inside. JJ is too light in the backside to play downlow consistently right now and Thomas is the perfect change up from the finese Haywood.

I heard insider had Gasol and Williams to the Wizards for Kwame and filler as a possibility. Aside from obvious contract issues like BYC on Williams, I am probably not 100 percent against this. Gasol is good, there is no doubt and Williams can run and has decent numbers for an Eddie Robinsonesque contract. If we could move Jahidi or Laettner in this I don't see why not. We would have at the end of the season with no contracts or options picked up and Stack opting out:

PG: Williams/Dixon
SG: Hughes
SF: Jeffries
PF: Gasol/Laettner
C: Haywood/Etan
of
PF: Gasol/Etan
C: Haywood/Jahidi

On top of that we would have a lot of caproom and Navarro as a possibility as well, who would team up with a National team teammate. With the caproom a run on Lamar Odom would make sense.

All speculation and definitely not something I want to happen but logically it makes some sense. Gasol is obviously much better than Kwame at this point in time but I think they have a similar ceiling, with the edge to Kwame on possibilities, and a huge edge to Gasol on reality.

Collins on Kwame trade rumors:

"No, no, no, he's not available," Collins said. "We're trying to develop our younger players and make the playoffs. Kwame has improved greatly from last year, he's going to continue to get better and he's one of the centerpieces of our future."
