We have a two game lead on the 8th spot but can we get out of that spot to higher ground?

We are:

1) 2.5 back of Orlando and the Hornets
2) 4 back of Philly
3) 4.5 back of Boston

If we can protect home and beat the teams that we should I think we can get the 5th spot from Philly.

I think we can catch Boston , Look right now the Sixers and Celtics are struggling mightily, as long as MJ stays healthy and Etan and Kwame are in the roatation I think the Wizards will move up they are more stable than those teams as far as interior players wise and have alittle more solid perimeter and PG play. I think it could be Boston or Philly easily. I think the 8th spot is just a temporary situation because the Wizards haven't really played well yet for an extended stretch like most of the other teams so I think with the Wizards finally gelling they will move up.

We sure aren't taking advantage of our January schedule. Milwaukee is coming on also.

I keep thinking Orlando could fold up. If Hill's really done for the year, they won't win at the rate they've won at up to this point. Add to it Miller's sprained ankle and McGrady's chronically bad back, and I think they might not be able to sustain their pace.

Antoine Walker's hurt in Boston, and Tony Battie's knee is apparently in pretty bad shape, so I could see them having problems.

The Sixers have been playing like dogs, but when they MaCullough will probably be getting healthier as the season progresses, so maybe they improve. I've also heard they might trade Coleman (big ending salary), so they might end up getting some help.
