Who were the four Clippers who told GM Elgin Baylor at a team meeting that they were playing only for themselves and looking to drive up their stats? According to a team source, they were Michael Olowokandi, Elton Brand, Quintin Richardson and Lamar Odom. Baylor was stunned to hear them talk that way. But why should he have been? Olowokandi can walk this summer, while Brand and Odom will be restricted free agents. In two summers, Richardson will be restricted. Where was Andre Miller in all this? Miller, another restricted free agent this summer, was in attendance, but said nothing, which came as no surprise. The Clips don't think he's a leader and there's considerable doubt whether he even knows several of his teammates' names.
Ok. It is looking better and better. Hopefully the Wizards do the right thing and go for Odom first if we end up going after a FA this offseason. Brand would be my second choice, with Miller as my last choice.

Yeah I read this also, my question is why is Baylor stunned to hear this . He and the owner run a franchise in that manner and are shocked that some players are playing for themselves and not the team. Incredible. We need to start floating rumors at how we're interested in Odom right now. I keep hearing about Riley down in Miami being very interested in Odom. The Heat aren't as good as we are with young player but the climate and Riley's rep maybe a hell of a lure. Odom is number 1 on my wish list.

The Miami Heat are going to have about $6M to $7M in cap room max for next season and that is if they release Ellis in the near future and sign minimum salary guys to fill in the rest of their slots, which would be quite a few. They could obviously do well in a trade to get rid of Grant or Jones, but who wants those guys at max salary?
