MJ nba allstar? AI, TMac , VC should give up their starting spots
AI, Tmac or VC one of these guys should vacate their starting spot so that Mj starts in the allstar game. Mj should be voted in by the coach's based on his play not some sentimental thing. He's played well enough in my estimation to warrant being picked for that team. Although Stacks led the team in scoring Mj's been the teams best player. MJ since he's started starting has made the Wizards a contender for the eastern conference title. They are going to be solidily in the playoffs and I think make some noise. If he's not in the allstar game it would be a crime.
AI, Tmac or VC should honor Mj this way. It would be a nice gesture and shine some positive light on either guy. Mj's meant so much to the league this would be a way to say thanks to him with this gesture.

So he should be "given" another all star start instead of earning it? All those players are deserving why should one of them give up such a prestigous award just to "honor" someone. Thats what Jordan got the 50 greatest player award for. Thats why the jumpman represents the league. Can other people shine too, please?

Chances are Vince won't play in the game due to his injury, which means that leaves a starter spot, now if I remember correctly from last year, the starter spot is picked by Stu Jackson or David Stern, from a player not already on the team, I bet MJ will start instead of Vince.

Excuse Me Drag but explain to me exactly how you EARN an allstar start, I thought they were picked by the fans. I said it would be a nice Gesture, AI Tmac, and VC are going to play in the next 10 allstar games and I'm not saying bench them just honor MJ one last time if possible. Seeming as every guard in the last 10 years has patterned their game after MJ its the least those players who just about all have had the mans poster on their wall growing up could do. One moment to pay respect to a legend, bball's Babe Ruth isn't asking too much. I think MJ deserves to be on the team voted in by the coach's for his play but to have him not introduced as a starter and have him come off the bench just seems improper. You just don't treat an alltime great that way.

Honestly I would prefer that Jordan have a week's rest and come back with vengence. Remember he basically wore down after the all-star game until eventually his knees wore out and so did the Wiz's hopes for a playoff berth. MJ was last year's first half MVP and I would hate to see him get injured. MJ is the greatest player ever and his comments were correct that other players should step up and that he doesn't mind stepping down. I think MJ actually prefers to rest and I think his comment is a statement to coaches that he prefers to rest. His mission is not to play or start in the allstar game, it's to lead the Wiz to the playoffs. And who knows maybe even a championship, nobody bets against Jordan.
