Trueblue I'm starting to think Chandler might have been a better fit for the Wizards right now. Collins wants an energy guy that blocks shots, run the floor well, and play good helpside defense. Chandler does all that. However Kwame, while being an excellent weak and strong side shotblocker, still hasn't grasped the fundamentals of team defense.
Most importantly, Collins doesn't want Kwame to shoot unless he has a wide open dunk or jumpshot. He really doesn't call plays for the Kwame, and since Kwame is not a great offensive rebounder, he gets frozen out of the offense completely. I wouldn't think this would be a problem with Chandler since he is more of a garbage man-type of player that can feed off others.
AT this point, I see two directions in which the Wiz can go: they can build the team around Stack, then offer anything else for Brand. Since Stack misses so many shots, Elton would be free to get tons of rebounds. This team would probably go as far as the 2nd round most seasons.
The second option is to build around Kwame and Hughes. This is the direction I want to go in, but with a coach like Collins, I don't think he has the patience to develop all these young players.
Its just a tough predicament for everyone involved (Jordan, Collins, Kwame).
