The Rumor about Brown

http://www.washtimes.com/sports/20030115-71368720.htm

Even mentions Orlando is interested in Haywood. Quite ironic wouldnt you say?

I'm usually so adamant about keeping Kwame...then I see games like last night where I just want to trade him for picks.

The kid has boundless potential, but he has no clue what to do with it.

I'm beginning to question whether the "impatient" Wizards is the right team for Kwame.

As for Haywood...I would trade him for the right price. However, if Orlando wanted him, we would have to get Miller back in some sort of offer.

Of course LSF. I agree. But you know as long as Hill is not 100% Orlando would be crazy to trade Miller. But, one never knows!

As for Brown. The kid is young. He will have up and down games until he learns all the players and gets stronger. When a team has a young player like brown and add in our two youngsters, its a rollercoaster tide. But i know how you feel. Chandler did something similar. 19 rebounds one night. Much less than that the next night against the very same team. Dont be down on Brown! He will be a player in this league in the future.

Trueblue I'm starting to think Chandler might have been a better fit for the Wizards right now. Collins wants an energy guy that blocks shots, run the floor well, and play good helpside defense. Chandler does all that. However Kwame, while being an excellent weak and strong side shotblocker, still hasn't grasped the fundamentals of team defense.

Most importantly, Collins doesn't want Kwame to shoot unless he has a wide open dunk or jumpshot. He really doesn't call plays for the Kwame, and since Kwame is not a great offensive rebounder, he gets frozen out of the offense completely. I wouldn't think this would be a problem with Chandler since he is more of a garbage man-type of player that can feed off others.

AT this point, I see two directions in which the Wiz can go: they can build the team around Stack, then offer anything else for Brand. Since Stack misses so many shots, Elton would be free to get tons of rebounds. This team would probably go as far as the 2nd round most seasons.

The second option is to build around Kwame and Hughes. This is the direction I want to go in, but with a coach like Collins, I don't think he has the patience to develop all these young players.

Its just a tough predicament for everyone involved (Jordan, Collins, Kwame).

yes LSF. If the wiz do build around Hughes and Brown, i do not see collins as their coach. Your right!

Honestly I think Collins and Jordan know they have a heck of a talent with this guy. Brown simply won't get his chance until Jordan retires. I would never trade Brown for a player like Miller. I really think this guy in the next couple will become very very good. I wouldn't trade Brown for Brand because I think at Brown's peak he will be more dominant. Remember Brown is the future, sure that are players they can trade for to give the Wiz a "quick" fix and help in their current playoff run, but that is simply not looking at their future and would be stupid.

Chandler is not the player Kwame is and wouldn't help one bit more than Kwame's helping. No other highschool guy has played under the pressure that Kwame's playing under. Mj has buckled vets with the stress he's sure to run Kwame a little nuts. Everything will be fine, and like Bb doctor says Kwame has great upside.
