Dixon and Jeffries

Seriously. Could these guys suck any more right now?

Dixon is such a liability sometimes it makes me cry. I went to the game yesterday and people just yell and scream for him becuase he is a Terp. It is sad, but the guy is crushing momentum for us at key intervals. Dixon has always been inconsistent, but when he misses his first 3, it is time to go with Blake.

Jeffries has disappeared. He has lost any sort of energy he once had. Stop the deer in the headlights act and get aggressive. I almost want to blame him for everything. Kwame didn't get much burn yesterday, but when he was in, he was on Noc a few times, and played a hell of a lot more aggressive than Jeffries.

Bah. I bagged on these guys the whole game yestrerday, even when we were up, and had people all around me laughing.

Re: Dixon and Jeffries

I agree completely...was going to mention this myself. Etan should get the start in game 4. JJ has had his moments, but Juan has been pretty much terrible his whole career. He gets streaky at times and you think he's going to help your team, but he will never be a consistent player. We don't need a gunner like him.

I'd rather have Kwame start with Etan coming off the bench. Etan is defiantly a player who brings energy off the bench. Kwame needs to be the starter with more minutes so he can bring strength and speed to our frontcourt.

Re: Dixon and Jeffries

I really can't complain about Jeffries since he does bring his effort on the defensive end plus he isn't supposed to help on the offensive end. I don't see him miss assignments like Kwame does sometimes. Still, I think Kwame should start but I don't think he's fully heallthy.

Re: Dixon and Jeffries

I've given both guys plenty of support over the season, but I'm firmly on the flip side of the coin nowadays. I thought Dixon was decent enough for us in the first half of the season, before the all-star break. He wasn't anything special, but he didn't really harm us by being in the game. In the past couple months though, he's flat out been awful. Really, no reason not to have him buried at the end of the bench. Literally, he should be the 12th man right now. I'd rather see Blake or Profit in the game easy. Sure, they may not help us much at all, but they won't hurt us either (at least not nearly as bad as Dixon). Short of playing on an all-NBA level these remaining few games, I'd be more than shocked if he hasn't written his ticket out of Washington.

JJ annoys me far more though. Unlike Dixon, who at his very best might make a decent bottom of the rotation guy, JJ could easily be a great do-all role player for us. I just don't get what his deal is. He finds a half-quarter every few games to look more than look like player we were hoping for when we nabbed him in the lottery, but the rest of his time on the court he ranges from mediocre to horrible. I want to have patience, because this effectively is only his second season, so he's still a young and unexperienced pup. However, it's made tough when he's getting 28 minutes a night as a starter. If he were to play 20 MPG off the bench, I think I'd be a lot more forgiving. I'll grant him that that's more the coach's doing than his own, but still, tough to not get annoyed at the player himself.

Well, if Kwame was playing the way he should he would be starting and JJ would be coming off the bench like he should.

I agree JJ shouldn't start, but it's not his fault he's out there longer than he should, it's Kwame's stinkiness that is forcing JJ to start.

I'm not sure where you got anything about Kwame from my post? I mean I certainly would like to see him given the start over JJ, but I'd say the same about Etan and especially Hayes (if he were healthy) as well. Basically, I'd be happy to see anyone who has an okay chance of giving us something over JJ, who has a slim chance of giving us something.

Uh, well, if you don't have Kwame in mind then who? You want Etan to play power forward?

It's so crazy it just might work!

Re: Dixon and Jeffries

It's times like this where we miss Jarvis Hayes, he's not the greatest shooter but i cant imangine him playing any worse than Dixon and Jeffries is right now. If Dixon isn't making shots he's pretty much no use to us, at least if Jarvis is off he's still big and athletic enough to defend someone and grab some rebounds.

Dixon will be fine. He will have a good game tonight. JJ is the one who worries me, he should be contributing more than he has.

Hopefully we'll get a look at Kwame today. I hope he's over his "stomach virus."

Ahem. I hate to say I told you so, but...

Eddie Jordan said today Juan wouldn't let him get his car, he wedged himself in the door and spent ten minutes begging EJ not to lose faith in him.

So that's how I knew Dixon would have a good game.

Thank you Juan!
