Chad Ford 1/17/03 Hughes question

Seems that Mr. Ford thinks that Stack is moving on.

Is Larry Hughes the answer at point for the Wizards?

Chad Ford: (12:52 PM ET ) No, but I think he can be a pretty nice two guard in the league. Once Jordan retires and Stackhouse moves on, I think they'll give him that position. The team still needs a pass first point guard to run the show. I could see them making a play for Kirk Hinrich, Luke Ridnour or Chris Duhon in the draft. They'd all be good fits.

why does he assume this its totally stupid especially when the man himself said less than two weeks ago that he likes what the Wizards have for the future and that he wanted to be part of it. He went so far as to say that he was getting ready to buy a track of land here. Stackhouse will be a Wizard.

As far as Hughes goes people are just so slow in eating their words when they're wrong. Hughes has been terrific at the point and Collins system with him playing point doesn't make a pass first pg neccessary. Look at the Lakers 3 peat and the bulls all those years no natural pg so he needs to kill that noise and give Hughes credit for doing his job and stop acting as if Hughes is a defacto sg playing the point. He's a guard capable of all the duties.

This guy refuses to accept that he's wrong. Hughes has been excellent as a pg this season. So he doesn't average 10 assists per game...so what? The guy scores, rebounds, plays defense, and he's unselfish on top of that. And the only reason he doesn't average more assists is because Collins keeps him shackled.

As for Stack leaving....yeah Stack is out. I mean why would Stack want to sign with the team that can pay him the most money, in the meanwhile keeping him as the 1st option on offense?

No, no NBA player would like that.
