The Wizards Draft Grade (ESPN)
WASHINGTON WIZARDS
Round 1: None
Round 2: Andray Blatche, PF, South Kent Prep (No. 49)
Analysis: Armed with just one second-round pick, the Wizards made the most of it. Blatche has the talent to have warranted a mid first-round selection. He's long, athletic and skilled, and he has heart. I have no idea how he slipped this far, but it turned out to be a great second-round pick for the Wizards.
Grade: B+
i think EG did it again...we got our selves another diamond!

Re: The Wizards Draft Grade (ESPN)
Looking around, I see a "B" as our grade pretty much everywhere, with comments generally being the same. Usually something about somehow, magically getting a late first rounder in the late second round, EG may have found another gem, etc. Nobody is quite ready to give us an "A" though, probably because he is still not a sure thing and we won't find out either way for a couple years.

Re: The Wizards Draft Grade (ESPN)
Just caught this. Not a grade, but lists the Blatche pick as 5th among the "Jackpot Winners" (behind Granger, Boston, Atlanta, Chris Paul & New Orleans).
Quote:
Blatche thought he was going to land in the first round, but lasted all the way to pick No. 49. Don't cry for him.
Considering he never entertained going to college, whatever money he ends up collecting from the Wizards will be a bonus, and as the team's only pick, his chances of making the 15-man roster improve, even if his immediate future lies in the NBDL.
The 18-year-old Blatche is an unpolished gem that won't have the pressure to deal with that doomed former top pick Kwame Brown, and because of that, any progress made will make him an instant fan favorite. He looks like a potential player, 6-feet-11, athletic, with decent perimeter skills and significant promise.

Re: The Wizards Draft Grade (ESPN)
A grade for a 49th pick is ludicrous.
Anything but an A for a player that everyone thought would be a first rounder at the 49th is ludicrous.
What exactly were the Wizards supposed to do to get that A?
A team like the Pacers who luck into Granger are called genius. It cracks me up.

I like Blatche too from what I know, but honestly none of these guys "grading" us know a darn thing about him and neither do we so let's just see how he does in a few years.
