Jamison has been weak

Anyone notice he has had a horrendous shooting stretch in preseason. Am I the only one worried about this? He has said that the departure of Hughes means he will be taking more shots. Let us all hope that does not mean at 30% clip.

Re: Jamison has been weak

Don't know why he feels he needs to shoot more, Caron, Hayes, Daniels and Chucky can make up for that, maybe even throw Haywood and Etan a bone more often. BTW, Butler had 23 off the bench tonight on 10/15 shooting against the Pacers. Jamison has been off but Arenas hasn't been shooting lights out either. I believe when Jamison recieved those two nasty cuts last year (under his left and right eye), he has been more reluctant to play inside, he doesn't do those crazy flip shots near the basket more often than he used to and just mainly settle for jumpers.

Re: Jamison has been weak

Maybe he isn't completely healthy from knee surgery. Who knows? We've got a lot of new players, so there will be some time before our starters get used to playing with each other.

Re: Jamison has been weak

Before All-Star break I thought no one could stop him, post all star break I never liked him that much.

Re: Jamison has been weak

His performance at the FedExForum might have been the worst I've ever seen (although none of the Wizards were really having good nights). I think he was something like 2-13, and many of those misses weren't even hitting the rim.

I thought it was just an off-night, but now that I see the numbers, it looks like this has continued.

Re: Jamison has been weak

Jamison's play might be the thing I'm most interested in seeing in the opening week's worth of games. I know the preseason usually ends up meaning next to nothing in the big picture, but his shooting was just putrid. How can you jack up almost eleven shots in 22 minutes a game and only hit 28% of them? And if you're only hitting threes at a 12.5% clip, for the love of all that is true, don't take 2+ a night.

Jamison is a pretty one-dimensional player, in that he doesn't do a whole lot besides score points (yes, he rebounds some, but 7.5 in 38 MPG for a PF doesn't especially impress me). I was already disappointed with his efficiency last year, what with the shooting 10% lower from the field than the previous year. I was praying he'd get better this year, but if he's going to actually get worse, we need to drastically cut down his minutes and shot attempts.

Yea, odds are it's just a handful of poor preseason games where his minutes and role were limited, something that we won't remember a month from now after we've gotten a dozen games into the season with Jamison playing at his usual level. At least, I hope that turns out to be the case ...

Re: Jamison has been weak

I was reading that least season he did bad in pre-season to and he ended up shooting at a high clip in the beginning of the season so I'm not worried.
