MJ and Back Spasms

Anyone know if MJ is gonna play the rest of the week or if his status will be more than just game to game from now on?

Sorry, but don't expect to see a lot of PT for MJeff the rest of the season.

First, his knee is bothering him enough to wear the Joe Namath stocking. Nothing wrong with that, except that he mentioned on national TV how the knee has been bothering him.

Now back spasms? Nobody should be surprised, really- how can you expect a 40-year-old to play 40+ minutes every night and make it through an 82-game schedule?

Unfortunately for the Wiz, it looks like they will once again ride MJeff's coattails to a 35 win season, missing both the playoffs AND a top lottery pick...

It's really too bad for the Wiz... if MJeff hadn't played last season, the Wiz would have sucked- but they would have had a good chance at Yao or JayWill... this season, they'll miss the playoffs again, but instead of LeBron or Carmelo or Darko, they'll be getting the #11 pick or so... and Kwame isn't getting much PT...

I really wonder what this team is going to look like next season when MJeff isn't playing...

there was never anything wrong with his knee. He had a deep thigh bruise. The back spasms are probably a side affect of that injury due to compensation.

I can see Jordan playing a lot the rest of the season. He's obviously a trooper with a BIGGEST heart. Also, he won't be playing next season so I can see him finishing it and he's got years to rest.

Thanks for the clarification on the leg injury, and I agree that the thigh bruise is most likely triggering the back spasms.

But do you think that Jordan can make it through the season if he keeps playing 40+ minutes like he did in January and February?

Jordan doesn't need to prove anything. His desire is making it dangerous. It would be sad to see Jordan face health problems in the future because he asserted himself to much now. But I do think that he will finish the season one way or another. The plan was that he would play less this season but he has been averaging more minutes than last year. Where's the logic?

Not unless he gets healthy. He said if he sat out, his leg would get better. If he plays it won't. It is as simple as that. The number of minutes is not that much of a sticking point, because MJ can cruise on the floor to keep order, and the Wizards can step into a zone to conserve his energy.

I think it is important to get as close to 100% as possible though before he returns.

The CURSE has got us its time to start facing it Wizards fans. MJ just isn't above the CURSE No mere mortal and that what MJ is now can fight it off. We are being slapped real hard by the CURSE. Hopefully MJ can play but like BCH said unless he rests I don't see it healing. The back is a result of the leg problem. I had it myself before you start trying to push off on one side of the body trying to distribute the weight to the good leg and the lower back tightens.
