Hmm, I think he was trying to teach Gilbert a lesson, that no one is immune to being disciplined for not giving effort.

I'm still with Shanghai, this feels like a poor move. It's something you do when your team is rebuilding, not when you're trying to make the playoffs and every game counts. It hurt the team in this one game and may have very well hurt the relationship between Arenas and EJ for many games to come.
