Orlando 2003
The talk of what player will change the landscape of the NBA this summer. Jason Kidd? nope Jermaine O'Neal? no way GP? N-O One of the wayward Clippers? Please...
The player that will change the landscape of the NBA is the scoffed at Kwame Brown. Yes Michael Jordan's whipping boy. If some team can pry Kwame away from the Wizards, especially a team like Orlando or Minnesota those teams instantly make a push forward. In fact I expect the Magic to offer any and everything short of T Mac and Drew Gooden to get Kwame this summer.
I can see Orlando offering Steve Hunter, Giricek, and multiple first round picks but I am not sure if that is enough.

no way...
Although i wouldn't mind seeing Kwame in Orlando There is no way Orlando is going to trade Giricek he has been a great addition in the trade for Miller..Plus they have Gooden why would they want Kwame?

Kwame has zero work ethic and doesn't hustle. That reminds me of another player that we were supposed to watch in two years. I think his name is Darius? Seriously, if criticism from perhaps the greatest player in the NBA doesn't make you try, then you have no hope to be a great player in the league.

Just because Michael Jordan is possibly the greatest player in the history of the league, it doesnt make him the []AUTHORITY[/b] on other players and everyone else. This excuse right here gets very tired

That's definitely not enough. MJ is definitely going to shake things up in Washington this summer, but Kwame is his best asset. He's not going to trade Kwame for a marginal prospect (Steven Hunter, and fellas, do NOT tell me that this guy isn't a MARGINAL prospect, because he clearly is), a so-so perimeter player with no upside (Giricek), and a couple of non-lottery first round picks. Not going to happen.
You know who might end up with Kwame? The Clips! He is exactly the kind of player that Donald Sterling likes--he's in the midst of a rookie contract, he has tremendous potential, and he has tremendous trade value.
I'm also interested to see what Jerry Stackhouse does. If he decides to opt out of his contract, and if the Wiz renounce him, they will suddenly have a fair amount of cap space ($6-$7 mil). And, if Stack DOESN'T opt out, look for MJ to shop him around. If he DOESN'T opt out, he has an awfully reasonable contract for a star. If somebody agrees to bail him out on the lousy contracts of Jahidi White and/or Christian Laettner, and if that somebody can offer him some combination of cheap young players, draft picks, and expiring contracts (i.e., contracts that expire at the end of the 2003-04 season), then MJ will gladly part ways with Stack, I think. Stack hasn't exactly responded well to the recent playoff drive, you know. When MJ keeps saying all this stuff about guys needing to step up, he's primarily talking about Stack, you know. He just isn't calling out Stack SPECIFICALLY because he doesn't want to completely ruin his relationship with Stack, that's all.

gotta agree witht the RobyG on this one.... Jordan will not cut loose his best young asset (well, other than Rip Hamilton )
especially not for some middle-of-the-road level player.... but he might for another upper-end potential rookie like a Gooden type, or a Hilario type. But no way does the Magic get Brown for a pack of throw-in players and a high pick.
Also, I thought the same thing with Jordan calling out the team... I thought it was clearly directed at Stack, without using his name... guess it didn't work so well vs GS though.....

I would love for the Grizz to make a run at Stackhouse and/or Brown. We will have some expiring contracts Wes person(7.7 mill) and Brevin Knight (5.0 mill).
