Larry Hughes
I am going to take a stance on this and say that it might not be a bad idea to sign him to a 1 year deal for $3M now that Billups has pretty much been locked up.
I would actually like to see a 3 year deal with a TO on the 2nd year that starts at $3M. This way if he pans out the Wiz do not end up getting nothing out of it.
A move of Chris Whitney would be needed but I think he might have some value with his veteran leadership, his ability to drain the open 3, and the fact he has a TO next year.

I still think Larry Hughes can be a very good player in the NBA. At $3 million, he could be a steal. He has nice size and very good skills. Maybe being on the same court with MJ could be the motivation that sparks Hughes?

I am just looking for an athletic PG, and I think he did ok with that last year with GS.
They had no shooters, I think Hughes took more of a scoring approach to compensate. I do not think the Wizards lacking scoring but athleticism. He would provide some athleticism and probably would fit better with the Wizards than the Warriors, who quite frankly are still struggling to have any sort of consistency and identity.
I say give it a shot.

Hughes is worth a flyer, but...
His D is horrible, his attitude is ok at best, and his decision making especially as a PG is questionable.
If a team can sign him to a short contract, do it b/c he is still young, much of the above is correctable and he create his own shot.

The Wizards, if they sign Grizzard, will have 1 spot left on their 15-man roster. I am going to go out on a limb and say Popeye gets resigned leaving 0 spots.
I think it is about time to do some talent consolidation. It is hard to imagine Whitney, Lue, and Dixon all making it through to the start of the season. One of them has to go and it is not going to be Dixon. That leaves Whitney or Lue. I think Whitney probably has a little more value. I also think Whitney is going to have to be paird up with another player, and I am thinking it is going to be White or Laettner. I say Laettner not becuase I think he will get traded but becasue I think they would like for him to get moved. Laettner and Jahidi both make about the same. The problem that arises is that a Whitney + Jahidi or Laettner is going to be about $8M in salary. Bringing in any player making that much is going to be a huge stretch.
Anyway, I am just rehasing all of this and concluding that Hughes in all likelyhood would be a move the Wizards make after they deal with other parts of their roster.
I wish we could move Laettner but it is not happening.

I agree with all of thee above, Hughes is worth the risk in a short term deal especially the to version, his athleticism is something we really need at the point last year teams just ran away from us this makes us much quicker on the perimeter. I like Lue much better and I wish we could give away Whitney, Lue gives us defense and another creator off the dribble he had some big stretches for us offensively and always does a good job against smaller guards. We should let Jones go because it's time to develope our young big guys. Laetner's a big waste as is Davis. I think Grizzard could be a huge steal and we should bring back Nesby and let go of Bobby Simmons. Nesby's a great athlete and can d up. Simmons is slow and does nothing real well ,his only redeeming value is he's cheaper than Nesby. I say pay Nesby 3-4 mil and cut Simmons and give Grizzard his minutes.
