Re: Jeffries And Atkins To New York?
Well I certainly wouldn't miss Atkins, but at this point I can see why he doesn't want to play for us either. I'd love to make a move for Artest.

It's just some guy's article on Sportsline, not a rumor, but he has the same idea:

To Washington for Gs Chucky Atkins or Antonio Daniels and F/Gs Jared Jeffries or Jarvis Hayes: Mix and match to your heart's delight, because Washington seems to have enough components to swing a deal. Would Indiana have the unhappy Atkins as an offensive spark off the bench? Probably not, with defensive standout Daniels available. How about bringing back Indiana product Jeffries, giving Conseco an instant favorite? They could also opt for Hayes, a spectacular young jump shooter. From Washington's perspective, an Arenas-Jamison-Artest trio sounds delightful. The Pacers should be wary of this deal considering the potential of seeing Ronnie come playoffs -- this year.

On another note, in New Jersey, Marc Jackson has demanded a trade. He makes equal money with Atkins, so a straight up deal with those two works. Just another idea to consider.

MJax said he wouldn't be opposed to being traded but hasn't outright demanded one. Most likely he'll be used in a package deal for a bigman. Maybe a swap of disgruntled backups in McInnis for Atkins could work though even though it's a far less attractive idea.

Especially with the Knicks' payroll.
Richardson is not a bad player or anything, I just think this trade would be bigger in name than value for us.

I know it will be a good value trade for Wiz but I don't think it's going to happen.

I would love to give up Atkins and Jeffries. It makes the most sense for the Pacers and it gids rid of two guys I really don't like. Daniels can still be a good starter and Hayes is going to be a 20PPG player some year. The thought of Arenas, Jamison, and Artest starting looks pretty good.
