Is there really discontent with the coach?

Ok, a lot of you guys have mentioned the players don't seem happy with the coach and maybe he's close to being fired. I don't particularly like the guy, but can anyone point to any examples of conflicts with EJ that would indicate he may be walking a tightrope? Yes, we are losing and still playing bad defense, but I have never got the feeling EJ is on the way out.

Re: Is there really discontent with the coach?

I don't think there is much in the way of concrete evidence. The only guy who has really complained is Atkins, when he asked for his trade. Beyond that, it's pretty much just reading between the lines -- in other words, some people are going to think that guys are quietly making jabs at the coaching, others will take their words at face value. I know I've read some from Daniels that I found iffy, and I believe Haywood and Arenas have had some too. If I can remember I'll see if I can find any of them tomorrow.

EJ won't be leaving anytime soon

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

"That's not him," Arenas said. "We're throwing the ball away. We're not making shots. It has to be on us. It's just in this league that the easy way out has been to fire the coach."
Arenas is defending him in the article, but I think it's pretty obvious that there's obviously been a lack of discipline as far as defense and valuing possessions the last two seasons. EJ has to take most of the blame for that.
