A hatchet job

I think the subject speaks for itself.

This guy is a columnist. His whole argument is that Kwame is number 1 and that he is not playing like it. He would have been writing the same story about any high school kid after his first season. He ignores so many of the circumstances surrounding it. His mention that Kwame is not answering questions merely points to the fact that he has a problem with it.

He alludes to the groin injury and his conditioning and provides absolutely nothing to back it up.

I for one like the Times, it certainly provides some balance to the Post's liberal agenda, but Knott is an idiot and an *** I've thought that for years. Almost everything he writes has a negative slant to it. It really pisses me off because he has what I'd consider a dream job and he acts like he hates sports.

They also had a nice article on Jeffries:

It' my first post of a URL here so my apologies if the link doesn't work.

I agree with you, BCH. This was a hatchet job. The columnist needs to have some perspective here. Kwame is just a little over a year removed from high school. Thinking back to when I was 19, I would have been totally overwhelmed being in Kwame's shoes. To write such a scathing piece on a teenager is unfair, it's way too soon to pass judgement on such a young player. It could be three or four years before we are able to see which high school kids were worthy of being top picks. Look how long it took Jermaine O'Neal and T-Mac to develop into the players they are today.

in addition to physical ability, high schoolers entering into the draft (esp. those projected to go #1) should be mentally prepared for the NBA as well.... hasn't proven to me he has that yet.

That's crazy. This is just another example of the media blowing things way out of proportion. The kid's learning, the guy should stop acting like his father.
