If Kwame improves there is no question the team could be as good...better???? Probably not. Kwame is the X factor same as this season but he was terribly hindered and I did not like MJ's or Collin's attitude to him. Stack is an all-me player...he is really not that good. I don't agree with him saying this in public but maybe he is just trying to pump up the team for next season..like don't give up on us before it happens. Having something to prove is always a great motivation. But Stack please ....he has not proved anything to me since leaving NC.

I agree with this. If Kwame steps up which I believe he will they could have a solid year. Adding another lottery pick plus the addition of Jeffries back to the fold I could see the team being just as good or better. Maybe add a free agent. it could happen. They weren't all that great this season.

Yeah, they could be as good, but it will be contingent on all their players actually playing hard.
In a sick way, MJ leaving might be of benefit. Without their "MJ and Doug are too mean" excuse, they'll either have to play hard and dive for loose balls or come up with an entirely new set of excuses. It'll definitely be time to put up or shut up.

I am not counting on MJ returning.
I want this resolved as soon as possible though so that we can start thinking about who a logical replacement would be if MJ bolts.

I think the team could be better without Jordan. This team had no chemistry simply because there was a redundancy of skill. You had three mid-range/slashers on the perimeter (MJ, Stack, Hughes, Simmons), a couple of bruisers (thomas, jahidi), a few inconsistent shooters (Dixon, Lue, Russell), and young players that didn't really know what their role was (Kwame, Haywood).
if whomever in charge actually fields a team with chemistry, the next year the Wiz could be better.

I think the bigger headline would have been in Stackhouse said the team had no chance without MJ. What is he really supposed to say in this situation? He is hoping the young guys who haven't developed get better, not that he is going to take over everything MJ has done. That is what people are inferring and it is wrong.
The Wizards have a chance to be better without MJ. I honestly don't think it will happen next year, but next year will be integral in developing the team further, for the future.

I agree. I would hope that Stack thinks the team could win 37 games next year or more.
