Good article.
In my final analysis Abe should sell the team to Leonsis or MJ. He should get out now. He's basically strangling 2 Franchises the Wiz and Caps. Its no accident that the Wizards have been stuck in the mud for 25 years. Abe is just doesn't seem committed to fielding a winning franchise. MJ wants to spend money to expand the scouting a must in order to scout foreign players and keep up with the rest of the league maybe the most important thing a franchise needs.
Abe needs to sell and give us a chance to win. He schedules events screwing up the Wizards season and always seems to focus on the dollar instead on the commitment to the team. He built a nice Arena in downtown DC he did it with most of his own money he's restored the downtown area as a social center. Now its time to step aside and allow the Fans to finally get a product worthy of their alliegance . Wizards fans are some of the most loyal fans there is. We stay with them no matter what but this year after year of mismanagment is getting tiresome.
Abe is a very fine man. I know this personally. He put my best friend through college . My friend met Abe out joggin one day in the parking lot of the cap center . Abe asked My friend what was he doing with his life . My friend said he'd like to go to college. Abe said right on the spot call me at my office , register for class and bring me the Bill. My friend registered for part time something he could handle to pay on his own. Abe called him and said Go full time and meet me in my office the next day. MY friend did and Abe
cut my friend a check on the spot to go to Md university. Abe's one helluva man. He paid for all 4 years.
I added that to acknowledge the kind of person I know Abe Pollin to be but he just needs to relent control and allow us achance to have success without the apparent status quo the Wizards always work from. Its time now for a change.
