Is Arenas the player to build around?

Two part question for everyone.

1) Is Gilbert the right player to build around to win the Larry O'Brien Trophy?

2) If he is, how much of the roster needs to be changed to make that happen?

I believe Arenas is the perfect player to build around. First, Arenas is very similar to Dwayne Wade in almost every aspect (except shooting and rebounding). Wade was the Finals MVP of a championship team. So I don't see why Arenas can't lead his team to a championship. Second, Arenas is selfishless. He is willing to take pay cuts or whatever it takes to create a contender. Although a pay cut is not allowed, it shows Arenas' will to win. Third, he's twenty frickin' four years old. He's already an amazing player at such a young age. With 6-7 more years of explosiveness left in him and with his shot he's going to last in this league a long time.

I believe a lot of the players need to be changed. Our frontcourt is obviously weak. Haywood is a decent young center at best. He still needs to develop his post moves and passing out of double teams. Our young forwards and centers in Blatche, Pecherov, and Ramos are improving, but at a slow rate. I think we are going to have to trade potential for experience. An example would be Jamison, Hayes, and Blatche for Kevin Garnett. Something around those lines. Our backcourt is already pretty good looking. With Arenas, Butler, and Daniels we have an excellent group of guards. I just think we need to improve the frontcourt to move into contender status.
