Wizards Future

Seems bright i mean taking the Cavs to 7 games was great, but Wiz shuoldve won 2 bad calls ,because well Lebron is King.
So what if Washington beat Detroit and played Miami in the Conference finals.
If the Wiz can produce a good center i can see it happen. i mean the core 3 of Arenas,Jamison, and Butler is great. throw a decent center and 3 into the mix and you got a contender.

Re: Wizards Future

It could of definetly happened last season. We just had some bad games (and bad calls) through the Cavs series. But I've moved on from then. I do believe that if we do get a defensive PF and C that we can be a legit contender in the East. If Eddie Jordan could hire a defensive assistant coach that could toughen up our defense. Because at this point, we aren't a scary defensive team except from the occasional steal from Arenas and Butler or a block by Etan or Haywood. If we switch some of our mentality over to the defensive side, then maybe, just maybe we can slip into the Top 3 in the East.

Another direction we could go in is have a massive team change. Like trading away Jamison and/or Butler for an all-star like Kevin Garnett. It would be tough to let those two go (especially Butler) and Minnesota might not even take that trade, but it something I see could make our team a lot better.

Re: Wizards Future

Yaeh, we definetly had a great chance against the Cavs, but we lost due to the problems we lost games all season long: Our inability to finish games and playing solid defense, particularly in crunchtime, and getting some stops.

Just imagine, we would have been as clutch as in the 2004/2005 season, where we won about 80 % our games decided by 3 points or less. We definitely would have beaten the Cavs and Iīm also sure, we would have had a realistic chance against the Pistons.

But this wasnīt the case. We were just very very unclutch, all season long. In the end shots werenīt falling and the key defensive stops were also missing. I really donīt know why this thing changed within one single season ? The loss of Larry ? Many new players and missing chemistry ? I really donīt konw...

But if we wanna have succesfull next season, we have to get this ability back. (key stops in defense and playing smart on offense) In additon to an overall improved defense and I really think we could have a 50+ season. So I think itīs really to early to think about trading away guys from our core (Gil, Tawn, CB, AD, Blatche). I think we have the talent to become a contender in the future, but we badly need to improve on the defensive side.

BTW:
My first post here. I hope you guys understand me, because Iīm German and my English has a lot room for improvement.
