Arenas leaves long-time agent

Quote:
Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas plans to part ways with longtime agent Dan Fegan , an NBA source confirmed yesterday. A story saying Arenas had left Fegan was first reported on http://www.realgm.com . Fegan negotiated the six-year, $65 million contract that Arenas signed with the Wizards in August 2003.

Arenas declined to comment when reached by phone yesterday. However, a league source close to Arenas said the two-time all-star is in the process of filing paperwork to sever ties with Fegan and planned to wait "at least a year" before selecting new representation.

Isn't official, but it looks like it's going to happen. I thought Arenas has recieved pretty good advertising lately with Adidas finally giving him more attention. I guess they had personal disputes.

Re: Arenas leaves long-time agent

I have not seen much of Arenas in advertising at all and I suspect this is the primary reason. Also I'm not sure how big time of an agent Fegan is, but you don't hear his name as often. This summer Arenas was talking about wanting to win and getting big time players to come to Washington so maybe he will be looking to sign with an agent who has those connections.
