Do Wizards Fans Dislike the Name of the Team?
As a Wizards fan, do you wish the team were named something else?
Granted, there are a lot of sports teams with questionable names, but this seems different to me somehow.
Is this ever discussed down there, or have people just gotten used to it and it's not even an issue?
I think the team might be able to generate more revenue if they had a more marketable image.
Do you think this hurts the marketability of Gilbert Arenas? He's one of the NBA's most exciting players, and he has a great personality.

I wouldn't say I'm a Wizards fan, but I really dislike the name [along with the uniform]. "The Bullets" is a much cooler name. I see why it was changed, but "Wizards" isn't much better because of the KKK connections. I liked the proposed "Express" better.

It isn't the name, it's the logo. Our logo looks like a bad action figure you get in a happy meal. The alternates I have seen have been much better. The Wizard looks much more mature and a little futuristic. I thought the black looked good too.

I've gotten used to it. It's alright.
On another note, is our court a bit different this year? If I recall the baseline is black this year compared to blue last year, and the area outside the 3 point line is a different shade of wood than the area inside this year.

The Wizards logo on both ends of the courts are gold now too.

I wish they were still called the Bullets, but I generally like continuity in franchise identity. Plus I don't think calling them the Bullets is any more offenses than names like Pirates, Vikings, Hurricanes, etc.

Haha. Pirates? Those guys should protest!
"Yarrrrrrrr. Demand ye change the name of yer squad we do, mateys!"
The single most offensive name is Redskins, and no one in that town wants to change that.
There's a lot of gun violence in DC, obviously, so I doubt Bullets is coming back (unfortunately).
