Keys To The Game - Double Team Arenas – After the Knicks game, every team should follow the Knicks, by playing very tight on Arenas and double-teaming him during crunch time. The Caron Butler game-winning dunk was just a small defensive breakdown, but the Knicks did a great job keeping the ball out of Arenas's hands and limiting him to 16 points. Gilbert Arenas can drop 40 without breaking a sweat, so Orlando will need to do all they can to get him out of an offensive rhythm.
- Control The Boards – The Wizards are not a great rebounding team, but they did bring it Wednesday night against the best rebounding team in the league. Orlando must make sure, they can find second chance points off rebounds and keep the Wizards to a shot per possession at the same time, and it will hurt the Wizards' offensive rhythm.
- Limit Turnovers – Orlando are last in the NBA in turning the ball over at a disgusting rate of 17 a game, while the Wizards are 4th in the league in steals. The Wizards love to turn up the tempo, by getting easy fastbreak points off turnovers, so Orlando need to move the ball smoothly and keep the tempo down.
- Target and Eliminate Shooters – It's not going to be a surprise to know who will shoot lights out after the first two meetings, that it's Hedo Turkoglu with contributions off the bench from Keyon Dooling. After the Wizards' let Quentin Richardson alone shoot 7-12 from downtown and won't having an easy night if they let Hedo shoot lights out again.
Production From Role Players – You have to expect Orlando to double team Arenas at most times espicially during the last two minutes, so the Wizards will definitely need good shooting performances from Antawn Jamison, Deshawn Stevenson and Jarvis Hayes, while getting strong defensive presences from Andray Blatche and Etan Thomas. That's of course if they leave Arenas with the ball one on one.
- Contain Dwight Howard – Washington cannot afford to have a red hot Dwight have a 20 and 20 type game on Friday, and the Wizards big men have done a good job doing that the first two meetings. With Etan Thomas back on the active roster, and recent rise of Andray Blatche, they should have Dwight Howard guessing on offense and do a good job keeping him off the boards.

Re: 1/19: Wizards @ Magic - Game Thread
This game is huge if we want to keep a lead in our conference. Hopefully Caron and Antawn will step up and put up good numbers like they usually do if Gil is doubled again. Also, Brendan and Etan need to play tough D and stay out of foul trouble against Dwight Howard. The Wiz also need to step up on their perimeter defense against Orlando because Turkoglu always seems to put up huge numbers against us. It's always tough for the Wiz in Orlando, but the way we've been playing lately, I predict a 115-111 win.

This is a statement game. We have the opportunity to become an upper echelon team. We need to set ourselves from Orlando who I expect to win about 41-45 games. We should be a 50 win team this year.

Butler and Jamison off to a quick start. And Jamison actually had a block! Imagine that.

Jamison looks like he's playing quite well right now. I mean, you can't expect Gibert to go off for 40+ every night, so it's nice to see Antawn out-scoring Gilbert through three quarters. He has 25/12 so far [six offensive rebounds]. Caron has five steels.

He has 15 boards so far. His shooting percentage is sort of low, but it's nice to see him hitting the offensive glass.

Re: 1/19: Wizards @ Magic - Game Thread
The Magic are shooting a better percentage, but are down twenty, because they've shot fourteen less field-goal attempts because of the Wizards' twelve offensive rebound advantage.

I think the to's has some (not more) to do with that. Orlando is turning the ball over like crazy, they need to correct that.

Re: 1/19: Wizards @ Magic - Game Thread
The Wiz came up with a huge second half and most importantly the win. Other than giving Dwight Howard some easy baskets, the Wiz played great defense and forced a lot of turnovers and crazy shots. Each of the big 3 came up big, Antawn especially. Hopefully, we can get an easy win against Boston tomorrow in Washington.
