Since center Etan Thomas returned Jan. 10 after missing 13 games because of a sprained ankle, his minutes have steadily increased.
Thomas played 27 minutes during Friday's win at Orlando -- the most playing time he has received since his return -- and finished with 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting with six rebounds while helping to contain Magic center Dwight Howard.
The Wizards entered last night's game against Boston with a record of 14-4 with Brendan Haywood as a starter, and Haywood has done nothing to lose the job. He has recorded five games with at least 10 points and 10 rebounds this season and is shooting a career-high 58 percent from the field.
"They've been very good together," Coach Eddie Jordan said.

It's been great that he's been able to come back from his injury healthy and able to withstand the minutes he recieves, but I really hope Eddie Jordan doesn't start Etan Thomas now. It's not that I have no trust in him, it's just we've been playing the best ball and you guys know how Haywood is about his playing time like the start of the season. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
